
Jamie Lee Curtisis certain that The Bear has always been slated to end after season five.
The Academy Award-winning actress, known for her role as Donna Berzatto in the popular FX/Hulu series, announced the show will end after its fifth season. However, she clarified that this isn’t a recent decision, and the news has been known for some time.
Jamie confirmed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on March 3rd that the show is finishing up. He stated, “Everybody knows it’s the end of the show.”
As many already know, the show is ending,” the 67-year-old explained. “I’m just confirming what’s already been said – I’m not the one making any final announcements; I don’t do that.
Even though Jamie has mentioned it, FX and Hulu haven’t officially said anything about the future of The Bear. There’s also no confirmed release date for season five yet.

It wasn’t surprising to hear the news, since Jamie—the Emmy-winning actress who played Donna—had recently hinted the show was finishing up by fondly looking back on her time with it.

In a February Instagram post, she celebrated finishing work on the show with a photo of her and co-star Abby Elliott hugging on set. She wrote about how grateful she was for the amazing crew, writers, producers, and fellow actors who brought Chris Storer’s vision – and the story of this beloved family – to life.
As a sweet tribute to Abby, the Halloween actress also shared, “I had to complete it with my little one, Berzatto, @lilcutieforever.”
