In August, Hulu is set to bring back Arlen, Texas with a revival of the popular series “King of The Hill“. This new season takes place after the original series concluded and offers a fresh perspective on Hank Hill, his friends, and family. While some aspects may have changed, the group’s affection for Alamo Beer remains constant. Fans of the show can soon get their hands on real-world beer inspired by Mike Judge’s creation.
San Antonio’s Alamo Beer Company is partnering with Hulu to produce an authentic version of the beer that Hank and his friends often drink, signaling that things are in full swing for this collaboration. Eugene Simor, the founder, shared excitement about the upcoming project, stating “We’re just finalizing the release date.” Although the specific launch date remains unknown, they aim to make it available either in July or August to take advantage of Arlen’s resurgence. A sneak peek at the beer was presented during a Texas gathering with the cast in May, but it has yet to appear on store shelves. We’ll keep you updated once it does become available.
Changes For Arlen
Although Arlen underwent significant transformations during Hank’s absence, it appears that Hank’s fondness for beer remains unshaken. Due to work commitments taking him to Saudi Arabia, Hank, accompanied by Peggy and Bobby, have been out of Texas for an extended period, returning to a country that has dramatically altered since their departure. Despite these changes, Hank seems resistant to adaptation, as he holds fast to his established ways, as suggested in the previews for the upcoming fourteenth season.
In a recent conversation, showrunner Saladin K. Patterson explained that despite Hank spending time away from Texas, his political stance will remain unchanged. He said, “In the past, Hank symbolized a moderate viewpoint; the original series did an excellent job portraying the extremes and guiding viewers towards the sensible middle. However, while Hank has been away, the country has shifted so dramatically that the middle ground Hank once occupied is no longer truly the middle.
Thankfully, beginning August 4th, fans won’t need to wait to savor the long-awaited comeback of King of The Hill on Hulu. Instead, all ten episodes will be available for streaming at once, providing ample opportunity for viewers to catch up with the Hills family. From the previews released thus far, it seems that even as things evolve, the essence of the Hill clan remains constant.
