HBO Max has announced almost twenty stars who will be playing students at Hogwarts in the new Harry Potter series. Warner Bros. is making good progress on its fresh take on the Harry Potter story, and has included some familiar faces from the original films. The studio is now sharing a lot more information about the actors joining the show’s supporting cast as filming continues.
HBO Max’s Instagram page just announced 21 new actors who will be joining the cast of the upcoming Harry Potter series. These young stars have been sorted into the four Hogwarts houses and will play key supporting roles alongside the leads: Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. They’re expected to be part of the show for many years to come.
For the Gryffindor house in the HBO series, the cast includes Eire Farrell as Katie Bell, Asha Soetan as Angelina Johnson, Orson Matthews as Oliver Wood, Serrana Su-Ling Bliss as Alicia Spinnet, and Ethan Smith as Lee Jordan. These actors will play Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s housemates, all wearing Gryffindor’s traditional scarlet and gold and representing the lion mascot.
As a huge Harry Potter fan, I’m excited to learn who’s playing the Hufflepuff students! India Moon will be Hannah Abbott, Jazmyn Lewin is taking on Susan Bones, Cian Eagle-Service will play Ernie Macmillan, and James Trevelyan Buckle is Justin Finch-Fletchley. For those who don’t remember, Hufflepuff is known for its yellow and black colors, and their mascot is the adorable beaver!
Representing Ravenclaw house this year are Aaron Zhao as Terry Boot, Eve Walls as Lisa Turpin, Scarlett Archer as Penelope Clearwater, and Anjula Murali as Padma Patil. The house is known for its eagle mascot and its blue and silver colors.
The final house, Slytherin, will include Eddison Burch as Miles Bletchley, James Dowell as Lucian Bole, Oliver Croft as Marcus Flint, Dylan Heath as Adrian Pucey, Henry Medhurst as Peregrine Derrick, Cornelius Brandreth as Terence Higgs, Laila Barwick as Pansy Parkinson, and D’angelou Osei-Kissiedu as Graham Montague. Slytherin’s colors are emerald green and silver, and the house mascot is a snake.
