Even though Pokémon Pokopia just launched, its first special event is coming soon to the Nintendo Switch 2!
This event gives you a chance to encounter new Pokémon and receive exclusive furniture.
Here’s a breakdown of the upcoming limited-time event in Pokémon Pokopia, including the dates and what you can expect.
When is the next limited-time Event in Pokémon Pokopia?

The first special event in Pokémon Pokopia, called “More Spores for Hoppip,” starts on Monday, March 9th, 2026 at 1:00 PM Pacific Time and will be available until Tuesday, March 24th, 2026 at 12:59 PM Pacific Time. Currently, this is the only officially announced limited-time event for the Nintendo Switch 2 life simulation game.
The event will start shortly after the game launches, so it’s a good idea to prepare your town now if you want to participate right away.
Just a heads-up: this event is only available in towns that have a rebuilt Pokémon Center, so if you’re starting a new game, you might need to play for a bit before it appears. Also, it won’t be available on Cloud Islands, so keep that in mind!
The announcement doesn’t currently mention any specific limited-time events beyond the fact that Pokémon Pokopia will have special events happening alongside its regular story.
What to expect from the More Spores for Hoppip event in Pokémon Pokopia
The biggest highlight of the upcoming More Spores for Hoppip event in Pokémon Pokopia is the opportunity to catch Hoppip. During the event, you’ll also find special cotton spores to collect. You can trade these limited-time items for furniture with a picnic theme.
The furniture you earn isn’t just for looks! You can use it to build homes for Skiploom and Jumpluff, turning this event into a chance to catch three different Pokémon instead of just Hoppip.
The main thing to know is that you can only get Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff during this event. Because of this, getting More Spores for Hoppip is really important if you want to complete your collection or make sure you don’t miss out on these special Pokémon visiting your town.

Besides the main event, a special bonus is available for early purchasers: a Ditto rug! You can get it through the ‘Mystery Gifts’ menu by choosing ‘Get via Internet’ before January 31, 2027. The Mystery Gifts menu will appear after you’ve played for about 30 minutes.
That is separate from the limited-time event, but still worth claiming while it is available.
