A little over a month ago, it was announced who would be hosting the next season of The Grand Tour. Francis Bourgeois, James Engelsman, and Thomas Holland will be taking over from the previous hosts, Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond.
Clarkson has shared his opinion of the new cast, and he’s impressed with them.
During an episode of the My Week in Cars podcast, co-host Matt Prior mentioned that The Grand Tour had ended, noting they’d been discussing car shows for three years and realized it was no longer on the air.
He was then cut off by Clarkson, who clarified: “It’s coming back.”
Prior started to agree, saying “Well, yes,” but Clarkson quickly interrupted, urging him not to rush to a decision with a repeated, “No, no, no – don’t be hasty!”

Clarkson shared that Andy Wilman, the show’s original producer, is still contributing. He’s been watching the selection process for new talent and has been impressed with what he’s seen, describing it as ‘very, very good’.
They’re a completely different dynamic than what we’re used to, but they’re genuinely hilarious. You’ll see! I’m fairly sure it’s going to be a success, and hopefully, everyone feels the same way. We’re all hoping ‘The Grand Tour’ can continue.
The new hosts will present a six-episode series where they’ll address big issues in the car world and travel the globe. Their adventures include driving across the Angolan desert in specialized vehicles, discovering the exciting car scene in Malaysia, and putting the newest high-performance cars to the test in California.

It’s not surprising to hear Clarkson’s opinion on the new hosts – he previously filmed a video supporting their qualifications when they were first announced.
You can watch The Grand Tour on Prime Video. New subscribers can start with a free 30-day trial.
