As a huge Spider-Man fan, I’ve really loved seeing Miles Morales take off, especially with those amazing Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse movies. He first showed up in the comics back in 2011 with Ultimate Fallout #4, and he’s been everywhere since then – cartoons, games, you name it. But you know what’s still missing? A proper live-action movie! It feels like it’s overdue, honestly. He deserves that big break!

Currently planned for release on June 18, 2027, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse faces the challenge of concluding what many expect to be a truly great superhero trilogy. The film’s title suggests we might see a live-action version of Miles Morales, potentially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, before too long.

‘Beyond’ the Spider-Verse May Be Literal

Sony’s Spider-Verse movies have consistently named their installments to reflect what happens in the story. The first film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, showed us the Spider-Verse and brought characters into it. The sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, focuses on characters traveling throughout it.

Okay, so with Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, it sounds like they’re really going all-out with the multiverse concept – like, sending characters way beyond anything we’ve seen before. Honestly, a lot of us are guessing that ‘beyond’ could mean a jump into live-action. And it’s not like they haven’t played with that idea already! Remember Donald Glover as Prowler? And all those little nods to the live-action Spider-Man films? They’ve already woven that into the story, so it wouldn’t be that shocking if they went for it.

Is Now the Time for Live-Action Miles Morales?

It’s long past time for a live-action Miles Morales Spider-Man movie. If Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse truly concludes the animated series, it would be a huge disappointment if Miles Morales was then put on hold indefinitely.

Currently, there are no firm plans to bring Miles Morales into a live-action movie. However, the project ‘Beyond’ offers the strongest hint yet that it could happen within the next couple of years. While a live-action adaptation could fit into either Sony’s Spider-Man films or the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Miles would likely have more potential for long-term storytelling within the MCU.

It will be really interesting to see who plays Miles Morales next, whether it’s a famous actor or a newcomer. The actor’s age will likely match the age Miles is shown to be. However, any future version of Miles Morales, after the Spider-Verse films, will have a lot to live up to.
