Amy Slaton was keeping her eyes on the big day. Literally.
Despite having eye surgery, the star of 1,000-Lb. Sisters was determined to have a “Victorian elegance” theme for her wedding to Brian Lovvorn on October 31st. She did make one small request of her makeup artist, as seen in a preview from TopMob News: she didn’t want to wear false eyelashes.
She explained that she was being careful because she’d had eye surgery just 10 days earlier.
Amy explained that the doctor was aware of her wedding but didn’t warn her about wearing eye makeup. However, she’s still avoiding using eyelash glue as a precaution.
The way she saw it, “My eyes already come with lashes, I’m good.”
While the wedding was a fairytale, the same cannot be said for the road to the altar.
Life doesn’t always unfold gradually,” Amy shared on Instagram on March 3, alongside a behind-the-scenes video. “Sometimes, everything happens all at once.
“One minute I’m dealing with eye surgery, the next minute we’re getting ready for a wedding rehearsal,” she continued. “That’s just how life be sometimes—messy, painful, emotional, and beautiful all at the same time.”
Despite the difficult road Amy was reminded “that even after hard days, love still wins.”

She expressed gratitude for all the support and well wishes people had sent. She added that sometimes, simply being present is the most powerful thing you can do.
Ideally, guests should dress to match the theme. After all, the couple—who got engaged only five months after meeting in a haunted house—requested a spooky dress code for their wedding.
Amy jokingly told her wedding planner on the January 6th show that her bridesmaids might be ghosts. She explained she’d chosen a venue, the Talbott Tavern Restaurant & Inn, known for being haunted, and meant it literally – actual ghosts, not people in costumes.
The last episode of season eight of 1000-lb Sisters will be shown on TLC on March 10th at 9 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time. In the meantime, you can learn more about the rest of Amy’s family.

As a huge fan, I’m marking my calendar – the season eight finale of 1000-lb Sisters is coming on March 10th at 9 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time on TLC! Until then, I’m excited to learn even more about Amy’s whole family, and I’m already diving into all the details.
