Star Wars: Fate Of The Old Republic Adds Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed Veteran as Studio Art Director

I was so hyped when Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic was announced at the Game Awards last year, but honestly, we haven’t heard much about it since. It feels like it’s just… disappeared into space! I’m really hoping we get an update soon.

Things are looking up for the studio now that Pascal Blanché has joined as art director. He’s a veteran artist who’s worked on popular games like Assassin’s Creed (2008), Far Cry: New Dawn, and Splinter Cell: Conviction, as well as the indie title Hooked On You.

He announced his new job himself on Bluesky, sharing that he’s now Studio Art Director at ArcanautStudios. He’ll be working with Casey Hudson and the team on the next Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic game, and he’s really excited about it!

The director, Hudson, has described the new film as a tribute to the original, so it will be fascinating to see what creative choices Blanché makes as she reimagines the Star Wars universe.

We still don’t have a release date for Fate of the Old Republic, but development seems to be going well. Now, fans are eagerly trying to identify the characters featured in a new image shared by Blanché, which you can see below.

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve started a new role as Studio Art Director at Arcanaut Studios! I’m working with Casey Hudson and a fantastic team on the upcoming Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic project. #swfotor
