All Pokemon Locked Behind Pokopia’s Palette Town (& How to Get Them)

Pokemon Pokopia is a huge game with a lot to discover. The story unfolds across four main areas, and there’s a fifth, open-world area called Palette Town. You won’t unlock Palette Town right away – it takes several hours of playing the main story. However, it’s where you’ll find some of Pokopia’s most important features, like certain multiplayer options including GameShare. While it’s not required to finish the story, many players are choosing to explore Palette Town later. Plus, some Pokemon are exclusive to that area.

Palette Town, named after the original Kanto region’s Pallet Town, is found on the edge of the Withered Wasteland. You can visit early, but the game will warn you if you haven’t unlocked Link Play first. Once unlocked, Palette Town becomes your own space for playing alone or with others. It’s also home to unique Pokemon, so you’ll need to explore this area to complete your Pokemon Pokopia Pokedex.

How To Tell If a Certain Pokemon Only Spawns in a Specific Biome in Pokemon Pokopia

Okay, so I learned this the hard way! Some Pokémon are super picky about where they appear. Basically, if a Pokémon only shows up in a certain habitat if you’re in a specific location, the game usually tells you that location in your Habitat Dex. It’s a lifesaver, honestly! I spent days trying to find Pichu on Bleak Beach, and it finally hit me – it was never going to spawn there! Checking the Habitat Dex is a great way to figure out if a particular habitat in Pallet Town will actually give you a rare Pokémon.

To see where to find Pokemon, open your Habitat Dex and hover over their silhouettes or question marks. If a location appears next to ‘Area,’ it means you need to create that specific habitat in the right biome to make the Pokemon appear. Remember that some Pokemon can be found in multiple habitats, so just because one appears in Tall Hydrated Grass in Palette Town doesn’t mean it can’t also appear somewhere else.

All Pokemon That Are Only Available in Palette Town Habitats

For all the Eevee lovers out there, please note that Eevee and all of its evolved forms can only be found in Palette Town. Getting them isn’t as simple as just finding them though – you’ll need to complete specific challenges to make them appear. I’ll explain how to do that in a section below. Right now, let’s focus on the other Pokémon that can appear in their usual habitats, but only when you’re in Palette Town. I’ve listed them alphabetically to make it easier to find what you’re looking for.

Cramorant

This Pokemon, which looks like a bird, can be found in the Hydrated Tall Grass habitat. But you’ll need to create that habitat in Palette Town first! Just place some tall grass near a pond in Palette Town to give yourself a chance to catch it and add it to your Pokedex.

Mawile

Okay, so I figured out how to get Mawile! You need to build the “Working the Register” habitat, and it’s a little specific. Basically, you’ve gotta place two counters and a cash register in Palette Town. Thankfully, you can craft all those items, so it shouldn’t be too hard. The important thing is to make sure your cash register is actually plugged into a power source, otherwise it won’t count as the right habitat and Mawile won’t show up. Once it’s powered, you should be able to encounter it!

Munchlax

Okay, so I found out you meet Mosslax over at Bleak Beach, but if you want a regular Munchlax or Snorlax, you’re heading to Palette Town. They’ve got this special spot for them called the “Tree-shaded Snoozing Snorlax” habitat. Basically, you need to build a Naptime Bed under a big tree to get them to show up. That bed is a Large Relic, which means I had to go around punching those glowing blocks to find the pieces. Then, Professor Tangrowth has to check it out and then I finally got the bed to attract Snorlax!

Okay, so if you want both Pokémon, you’re going to need to use that empty habitat in Palette Town a couple of times. I figured out a neat trick – if one Pokémon shows up first, just move it into a house, and that frees up the habitat again! Plus, Snorlax actually spawns in another spot too, which I’ve seen listed below, so you could try your luck there as well.

Pikachu (Normal Variant)

You’ll find a special, ghostly version of Pikachu called Peakychu at Bleak Beach. If you’re looking for a regular Pikachu in Pokopia, you can only get it in Palette Town. To attract Pikachu there, you need to create a Picnic Set habitat – that means building two chairs, a table, and the picnic set itself. You can craft all of these items using a workbench.

Rowlet

You can find Rowlet in the Fesh Veggie Field habitat, which only appears in Palette Town. To make one, plant 8 veggies in your sandbox, arranged in 2 rows of 4. The specific type of veggie doesn’t matter, just the arrangement!

Snorlax (Normal Variant)

Regular Snorlax, not the special Moss-covered version, can be found in two different areas. However, both of these areas need to be located in Palette Town to make the Pokémon appear. One of these areas is the Tree-shaded Snoozing Snorlax habitat, which also attracts Munchlax.

Another option is creating a Good Old-fashioned Antiques habitat. This one needs some hard-to-find items like an Antique Bed, Dresser, Chair, and Closet. You can start buying the recipes for these items once you reach Environment Level 5 in Palette Town.

Vikavolt

This Grubbin evolution appears in the Tree-Shaded Flower Bed Habitat in Palette Town. To make one appear, place four flower beds beneath a tall tree and be patient – it’s a rare encounter, so it might take some time.

Weezing

Weezing, the evolved form of Koffing, can only be found in Palette Town and requires a specific habitat to appear. You can attract it by building either a complex Antique Shop (like the one needed for Snorlax) or a simpler Trash Collection Site.

You’re less likely to find Weezing at the Trash Collection Site, but the items you need there are much simpler to collect. To create this habitat, you’ll need a trash can, a pile of garbage, and a sign.

How to Get Every Eeveelution in Pokemon Pokopia

Eevee is unique because it can evolve into many different Pokémon. But in Pokopia, getting Eevee and its evolutions is a bit different – there’s only one way to obtain them. You’ll find Eevee near the Pokémon Center in Palette Town when you first unlock the area. Eevee will ask for your help finding all of its evolved forms. To attract each evolution, you’ll need to build a specific habitat, which requires completing a special mission in Palette Town first. These missions will reward you with the food needed to build each habitat. Here’s a guide to getting each Eeveelution.

Eevee

After arriving in Palette Town, Professor Tangrowth will suggest you explore. If you do, you’ll encounter Eevee, who needs your help finding its friends. You can unlock challenges to meet them all at the PC near the Pokémon Center in town.

Espeon

To find Espeon, you’ll need to create the Elegant Daytime Treats habitat. First, complete the “Get a Pokemon Housemate” Special Challenge. This means inviting any Pokémon to live in your home in Palette Town – you’ll need to claim it with a Ditto Flag first. Once you do, you’ll receive an Afternoon Tea Set, which you can use to build the habitat. Remember, Espeon will only appear during the daytime.

Flareon

Flareon likes to live in the Burning-Hot Spice habitat. To create this habitat, you’ll need a Pizza with hot sauce. You can only get this Pizza by finishing the “Build Lots of Stuff!” mission, which asks you to construct 15 buildings in Palette Town. Building smaller structures like huts or windmills will help you complete the mission faster.

Glaceon

If you want to find Glaceon in Pokemon Pokopia, you’ll first need to create its Chilly Shaved Ice habitat. To do that, you must complete the ‘Make It Easier to Get Around!’ Special Challenge, which will give you the Shaved Ice needed for Glaceon’s habitat. Be prepared for a bit of work though – you’ll have to build five lifts, and each one requires special Tinkagears.

Jolteon

To evolve Eevee into its electric form, you’ll need to create the ‘Electrifying Potatoes’ habitat, which requires a special dish called Friend Potatoes. Getting this dish means completing the ‘Power Machines with Electricity!’ challenge – essentially powering 50 different machines. Don’t worry, it’s not as hard as it sounds! Streetlights count as machines, so building walkways with plenty of streetlamps is a great way to quickly meet the requirement and get Umbreon.

Leafeon

To get the Grass-type Eeveelution, you’ll need to create a special habitat using Leafy Greens Sandwiches. You can earn these sandwiches by completing the “Grow Lots of Veggies!” challenge in Palette Town – this means growing 50 different kinds of vegetables there. You can build garden beds to grow them, and even share space with Rowlet’s habitat. To make things faster, you can also find a Grass-type Pokémon that’s good at growing plants.

Sylveon

You can find Sylveon in the Ribbon Cake habitat located in Palette Town. To unlock this habitat, you first need to complete the ‘Find More Pokemon!’ Special Challenge at the Palette Town PC. After finishing the challenge, you’ll be able to create Sylveon’s habitat.

Umbreon

To get Umbreon, you’ll need the Dark-Chocolate Cookies Habitat. You can earn the cookies needed for this habitat by completing the ‘Make Roads!’ Special Challenge. This challenge asks you to place 300 pieces of road in Palette Town – a good way to do this is by rebuilding and improving the area.

Vaporeon

To get Vaporeon, you’ll need to build its special habitat, the Boundless Blue Beverage, in Palette Town. To do this, you first need to complete the ‘Different Kinds of Flowers in Bloom!’ challenge and get the Soda Float. This means planting and fully growing 12 different types of flowers in Palette Town. If you unlock Leafeon first, it can help because it’s really good at growing plants!
