Family Guy has explored spin-offs before, with The Cleveland Show running for nearly ninety episodes after focusing on a supporting character’s life outside of Quahog. Creator Seth MacFarlane has also been working on American Dad, but it looks like he’s not finished expanding the Family Guy universe. A new spin-off series is coming, and it will center around one of Peter Griffin’s most beloved children.
A new show centered around Stewie Griffin, the famously intelligent and ambitious baby from Family Guy, is coming in 2027. The spin-off will run for two seasons, concluding in 2028. Episodes will air on Fox as part of Animation Domination and will also be available to stream on Hulu the day after they premiere. Creator Seth MacFarlane has shared details about the series’ storyline.
Stewie’s Own Show

According to creator Seth MacFarlane, the upcoming series will feature Stewie transferring to a preschool that’s even worse than his old one. He’ll encounter a strange new teacher and classmates, and will have to get creative with his gadgets to make the best of a bad situation. Importantly, this spin-off doesn’t seem to affect Stewie’s role in the original Family Guy series – unlike The Cleveland Show, where Cleveland Brown left the main cast.
Following the recent announcement, Seth MacFarlane publicly praised Fox for giving him the chance to create a spin-off show, jokingly adding that he’s looking forward to a close collaboration. Writer and producer Kirker Butler also shared his reaction, expressing gratitude to MacFarlane, 20th Television Animation, and Fox for entrusting him with such a well-known animated character. He playfully noted their long working relationship and hopes MacFarlane will finally remember his name on this project.
Good news for fans: even with this new spin-off, Family Guy isn’t going anywhere! Fox has already renewed the show through season 27, so we can expect the Griffin family to remain on the air at least until 2029.
