Where Mormon Wives’ Whitney Leavitt & Jen Affleck Stand After Fallout

Whitney Leavitt is dancing past the drama.

The star of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has openly discussed the challenges she and Jennifer Affleck experienced after competing on season 34 of Dancing With the Stars last autumn. Now, she’s sharing an update on their current relationship.

Whitney admitted to TopMob News’ Will Marfuggi, during an interview with her co-stars Mayci Neeley and Mikayla Matthews, that she’s taken a significant step back in her relationship, but is now focused on moving forward.

The 32-year-old added, “I hope she can do the same and just be cordial.”

Whitney and Jen’s relationship hit a rough patch during the dance competition. Jen, who was eliminated with her partner Jan Ravnik in week seven, confessed that it was hard for them to concentrate on winning the competition because of the drama surrounding the Mormon Wives.

We both always dreamed of being on Dancing With the Stars, and I really wanted to keep that experience positive and separate from the drama on our other show,” the 26-year-old explained to TopMob News in November. “But it was tough at times to prevent things from overlapping.”

Jen mentioned she also wanted to take a break, but then explained that unforeseen issues arose.

“Unfortunately, some things happened, so we’ve just taken a step back.”

Still, Whitney never felt like she was consciously stepping on Jen’s toes.

She later commented on Jen’s remarks during the Call Her Daddy podcast, saying, “It’s amazing. I’ve always hoped to be involved with the show, and I believe anyone can share that same dream. I’m thrilled we both ended up getting the chance.”

After everything that happened, I’ve noticed Whitney—you might remember her from Dancing with the Stars, where she and Mark Ballas made it to the semi-finals—has really pulled back from her friendship with Jen. She’s been pretty open about the fact that they aren’t very close anymore, and it seems like she’s intentionally keeping their relationship low-key.
