Bella Hadid has unlocked a new level of self-love.
You know, working on Ryan Murphy’s The Beauty for FX was a really interesting experience for me. It actually made me think a lot about my own complicated feelings around beauty standards and how they’ve shaped my life. It was a short role, but it definitely encouraged me to examine those things and unpack them a bit.
In a recent interview with Vogue, Bella explained that working on the project helped her overcome her need to control everything and strive for perfection. She realized she needed to step outside of her comfort zone and learn to be more flexible and let things happen naturally.
In the show’s first episode, the 29-year-old actress abandoned her usual composure and gave a powerful performance. Her character, Ruby, used an experimental cosmetic drug right before a fashion show. Unfortunately, the drug caused painful blisters to erupt on her skin, and after a violent altercation, she tragically exploded due to its dangerous side effects.
Bella felt relieved she didn’t have to drastically change her appearance for the series, especially after seeing how much her costars – including Evan Peters, Ashton Kutcher, and Jeremy Pope – physically transformed for their roles.
She shared that at the end of a long day filming, looking beautiful or perfect was the least important thing to her, and that realization was a valuable lesson she’ll carry with her always.
In fact, the Ôrebella founder wants to bring this essence to another dream role.
“If they do a live-action Spirit movie, sign me up,” she noted. “I’m ready to go.”
Bella has been pursuing her passion for horses ever since she moved to Texas with her former boyfriend, horse trainer Adan Banuelos, over a year ago. Just like her time on The Beauty, living in Fort Worth has also changed how she approaches her beauty routine.
She described keeping her look simple – just two braids and no makeup – as she went about her day. Being in Texas, she’s noticed all sorts of different styles among cowgirls. It’s really interesting – some go all out with styled hair, makeup, and jewelry under their hats, while others prefer a more relaxed look, like a ponytail, and focus on spending time with their horses.
She added, “I think that I’m right in the middle of both of those.”

Beyond building her cowgirl glam, Bella is also focused on her inner peace.
Bella shared that this year is about personal growth and self-discovery. She emphasized the importance of trusting her instincts and staying true to herself, and seeing where that leads.
