Jennifer Aniston Shares Insight Into “Very Happy” Season in Her Life

Jennifer Aniston isn’t feeling like she’s stuck in second gear.

The former Friends star, who is now dating hypnotist Jim Curtis, says she’s feeling really happy with where she is in life right now.

Jennifer shared with TopMob News’ Erin Lim Rhodes that she’s feeling fantastic about the current season. “I feel really good,” she said in an exclusive interview.

The 57-year-old explained she focuses on the good things and tries not to dwell on negativity, adding that things are going as well as possible given the current circumstances.

This means accepting who she is and feeling comfortable in her own skin. Jennifer acknowledges that society constantly points out the fact that people age.

She explained that societal pressures constantly remind her of these issues. “It’s not a pleasant experience,” she said, “and it’s hard to ignore the changes happening to your body.”

And that’s why the Morning Show star had to rethink her approach to “aging gracefully.”

Jennifer says she now views aging as a matter of prioritizing her overall well-being – physically, mentally, and emotionally – so she can age with as much grace as possible.

She’s aiming to achieve this through PVOLVE, a gentle but effective fitness program. Jennifer describes it as a way to move more comfortably in everyday life while also toning muscles, improving posture, and building core strength.

Jennifer explained that she enjoys PVOLVE because it focuses on practical fitness – the exercises mimic everyday movements. She appreciates that even though it’s a full-body workout, it doesn’t feel like you’re just trying to change how you look – though getting in shape is definitely a benefit.

Jennifer created the Quickies Series – short, 10-to-15-minute workouts based on her own arm and ab exercises – to help people focus on parts of their bodies they often neglect.

As we age, she explained, we tend to neglect the small muscle groups that gradually become less noticeable.

Plus, Jennifer loves that she can fit these quick routines into her busy schedule.

“It gets your blood pumping. It gets your brain fog cleared out,” she added. “It’s just a benefit.”

I’ve been a fan of Jennifer Aniston for years, and I always find her background fascinating! She was born on February 11, 1969, in Sherman Oaks, California, and comes from a real acting family – both her parents, John Aniston and Nancy Dow, were actors themselves. It’s pretty cool that her godfather was Telly Savalas, a close friend of her dad’s! And it’s interesting to learn that her family name was originally Anastassakis, but they changed it after moving to the US from Greece. It just adds another layer to her story, you know?

In a 2015 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jennifer Aniston shared that she was diagnosed with dyslexia in her early 20s, after years of difficulty with school. She explained, “I used to think I wasn’t very bright, because I had trouble remembering things.”

I remember Jennifer Aniston sharing something really vulnerable with her friend Molly McNearney a few years ago – she talked about being bullied during middle school. It was a really honest conversation, and it showed a side of her many people don’t get to see.

In an interview with InStyle, Jennifer Aniston shared that she was bullied as a child, and she wasn’t sure why. She explained that kids picked on her during fifth, sixth, and seventh grade, likely because she was a bit overweight. She described herself as ‘that kid’ they would make fun of.

Before becoming a famous actress, Jennifer Aniston had a humble job as a child – she cleaned toilets to earn her allowance. In a 2009 interview with Parade magazine, she joked that she was actually quite good at it! She also shared that she faced financial struggles for a time, but was content with her life regardless of how much money she was making, and always appreciated her work.

And before landing the role that would make her a household name, Aniston worked as a waitress.

I accidentally spilled Alpine burgers on customers a few times – you definitely don’t want Swiss cheese and mushrooms ending up on your clothes! I wasn’t a very skilled waitress, but people seemed to like me because I was friendly and pleasant.

While at LaGuardia High School, the famous performing arts school featured in the movie Fame, Jennifer Aniston participated in volleyball and basketball, all while studying drama.

Jennifer Aniston was also friends with Chaz Bono, Cher’s son, as they went to the same school. In a 2011 interview with Allure, Aniston shared that a group of them would go to Chaz’s house every day after school.

Although Jennifer Aniston is now famous for her relaxed California look, she revealed she went through a rebellious phase in high school. She told People magazine that her teenage years were awkward and she experimented with a dark, ‘goth’ style, embracing a look that was intentionally unconventional and even a bit unattractive. She wasn’t trying to be pretty; she was trying to be different.

Jennifer Aniston began her acting career with a small, uncredited role in the 1988 film Mac and Me, where she played a McDonald’s dancer. Before landing her breakout role on Friends, she took over the part of Jeanine, Ferris Bueller’s sister, from Jennifer Grey in a short-lived television series inspired by the classic movie. She also appeared in the cult horror film Leprechaun in 1993.

Jennifer Aniston has often spoken about the difficult relationship she had with her mother, Nancy Dow, throughout her life. This began in childhood and was compounded by witnessing her parents’ divorce in 1980.

Jennifer Aniston recalled that her former roommate was highly critical of her, telling The Hollywood Reporter in 2015 that the roommate, being a model, was exceptionally beautiful, while she didn’t feel she measured up. Aniston admitted she’s never seen herself that way, and that’s okay, but also found her roommate to be unforgiving, holding onto small disagreements for far too long.

The celebrity revealed to WHO that therapy was instrumental in helping her come to terms with her mother’s actions. She explained, “It takes a lot of work in therapy, but you can eventually move past it. Her behavior was a reflection of her own issues, and wasn’t about me.”

Before her death in 2016, Jennifer Aniston had a long and difficult relationship with her mother. They were estranged for many years, and her mother publicly criticized her, even writing a memoir titled From Mother and Daughter to Friends in 1999. Notably, Aniston didn’t invite her mother to her wedding to Brad Pitt the following year.

In a 2018 interview with Elle magazine, Jennifer Aniston talked about her relationship with her mother and shared some insight into why her mother acted the way she did.

Honestly, it just broke my heart when she talked about it. She always seemed so put-together, but she was really just trying to survive. I mean, she was struggling so much with money, and dealing with her husband leaving… it must have been awful. Being a single mom back then, in the eighties? Ugh, I can’t even imagine how tough that was for her. It wasn’t about the glamorous stuff, it was about just getting through each day, and she was doing the best she could, even if it didn’t look like it from the outside.

As a lifestyle expert, I always love sharing fun behind-the-scenes facts! Did you know just how competitive the casting for Rachel Green on Friends was? Before Jennifer Aniston became iconic, actresses like Jane Krakowski, Tea Leoni, Tiffani Thiessen, Elizabeth Berkeley, and even Courtney Cox were all in the running! Can you believe that Monica Geller almost played Rachel? It’s wild to think how different the show could have been!

Marta Kauffman, one of the show’s creators, shared that they initially considered Courteney Cox for the role of Rachel, but she preferred playing Monica instead.

Courteney Cox, who played Monica on the show, became close friends with Jennifer Aniston, and Aniston even became the godmother to Cox’s daughter, Coco. For ten years, the two actresses, along with Lisa Kudrow, ate lunch together daily on set. Cox revealed in a 2016 interview that they consistently ordered the same thing: a salad Aniston customized. Cox later explained in 2010 that it was a Cobb salad, but Aniston added turkey bacon and chickpeas, among other things.

Jennifer Aniston carefully chose roles, and ultimately found success with Friends. This meant turning down opportunities like joining Saturday Night Live. She explained on The Howard Stern Show in 2019 that she worried the show’s atmosphere wouldn’t be a good fit and felt she was better suited to dramatic roles than comedy. Ironically, she did eventually appear on Saturday Night Live – first as a host in 1999 and 2004, and later with a cameo in 2016.

Remember “The Rachel,” the hugely popular haircut from Jennifer Aniston’s Friends days? It caused a sensation, with fans rushing to salons to get the same choppy style. Surprisingly, Aniston herself later described it as “cringe-y” and even called it “the ugliest haircut I’ve ever seen” in an interview with Glamour. And here’s a funny detail: her hairstylist and close friend, Chris McMillan, revealed he was under the influence when he first created the iconic look!

Despite earning a record-breaking $1 million per episode in the final two seasons of Friends, Jennifer Aniston almost didn’t return for the show’s last season. She revealed in a 2004 interview that she had some doubts. Aniston, who won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her work on the series, wanted to end the show while it was still popular and at its peak. She also wondered if she had fully explored the character of Rachel. Luckily, she decided to come back after all (and, famously, Rachel did end up on the plane!).

I’ll never forget learning that Brad Pitt – who was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time and even made a cameo on the show – was actually the ‘MIA’ guest at the final taping! He specifically asked the producers if he could watch it with everyone else, wanting to be surprised along with the rest of us. And one of the wrap parties? It was unbelievably fancy – a formal dinner held at Jen and Brad’s house! Kevin S. Bright, our producer, had been saving some incredibly old bottles of Haut-Brion wine since the very first season for a special occasion, and this was it.

I remember when Jennifer Aniston did Office Space right in the middle of Friends – the studio really wanted a recognizable face for that film. They actually expanded her part, and it was all thanks to the now-famous ‘flair’ storyline! I was fascinated to read in Entertainment Weekly‘s oral history that she had two crushes while filming. Apparently, she went to high school with producer David Herman and confessed she was both deeply in love with and scared of him! It was so sweet and relatable to hear her talk about it.

Although Jennifer Aniston continued to use her maiden name for her career, she legally became Jennifer Pitt when she married Brad Pitt in 2000. After filing for divorce in 2005, she requested to revert to her original last name. The divorce became a major celebrity story, largely due to the widely publicized relationship between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, his co-star in the film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, who he later married.

Back in 2005, when the public was fascinated by the love triangle between Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie, the popular Los Angeles store Kitson capitalized on the buzz by selling t-shirts supporting either “Team Aniston” or “Team Jolie” for $30 each. Jennifer Aniston’s shirts were significantly more popular, outselling Angelina Jolie’s by a ratio of 25 to 1, as noted in Aniston’s well-known Vanity Fair profile.

Jennifer Aniston has frequently taken legal action against the paparazzi for invading her privacy. For example, in 2000, she sued two magazines for publishing unauthorized topless photos taken in her backyard. Later, in 2006, she reached a settlement with a photographer after she proactively sent copies of the same topless photos to various celebrity magazine editors.

Aniston stated in court filings that the photos caused her significant emotional harm, including feelings of shame, humiliation, and a violation of her privacy. She described experiencing distress, anger, and embarrassment, particularly because the photos were taken inside her home.

In 2010, singer John Mayer famously said that Jennifer Aniston was the one who got away, following their breakup.

He admitted to Rolling Stone that the breakup still affected him deeply. He described it as a very difficult period and said he regretted that the relationship didn’t work out, even saying he sometimes wished things could be different and they were still together.

For decades, Jennifer Aniston’s romantic life has made her a constant target for tabloids. She’s frequently in the headlines due to breakups, relationships, and ongoing speculation about a love triangle with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, not to mention the constant rumors about her being pregnant.

In 2016, Jennifer Aniston grew tired of constant media speculation about her personal life and wrote a strong opinion piece for The Huffington Post called “For the Record.” In it, she criticized the way the media objectified both her and women as a whole.

Let me be clear: I’m not expecting a baby. What’s really bothering me is how constantly I’m judged and my body is criticized. It happens every single day, and it’s disguised as news or justified by freedom of the press – but it’s just plain hurtful. Honestly, I’m so tired of it.

She also criticized the constant and often intrusive attention from the paparazzi, and the media’s tendency to portray her life as lacking fulfillment simply because she doesn’t have children. They often framed her story as if it were unfinished, a failure, or unhappy without them.

She beautifully stated that a woman’s worth isn’t tied to marriage or motherhood. We all have the power to create our own fulfilling lives and define happiness on our own terms. Absolutely!

Jennifer Aniston has traveled extensively, but her favorite place to vacation is Cabo San Lucas. She frequently invites her celebrity friends, including Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Courteney Cox, Jason Bateman, and his wife Amanda Anka, to join her. If you’re looking for a sunny getaway like Aniston’s, she often stays at the One & Only Palmilla.

I’ve always said Mexican food is the best, and it seems Jennifer Aniston agrees! She’s talked a lot about how much she loves it, especially things like chips and guacamole, and even tacos. She actually told Harper’s Bazaar she’s always craving those crispy tortilla chips with guac – honestly, who can blame her?

As you might expect, her go-to drink is a margarita. She told Yahoo! Beauty that her ideal one is simple: just tequila, lime juice, and a tiny bit of Cointreau – she says it’s delicious!

It’s well known that exercise is good for you, and Jennifer Aniston is always open about the effort she puts in to stay in shape.

I usually enjoy a mix of workouts. I like to do a ‘trifecta’ – 15 minutes on the bike, 15 on the elliptical, and then a 15-minute run. On the elliptical, I alternate between 90-second sprints and 30-second jogs, finishing with interval training. I also include yoga when I can. Recently, due to an injury, I’ve been doing Barre, and I’d forgotten how challenging it is – it’s a really tough workout!

Jennifer Aniston enjoys boxing, finding it both a workout and a therapeutic outlet. She explained to InStyle that it’s a healthy way to release pent-up frustration and process daily stress. Boxing allows her to mentally ‘punch’ whatever is bothering her, offering a release without actually harming anyone – though she admits there’s often one particular person she imagines! She’s thankful for the safe, physical way to let go of negativity.

As someone who’s followed celebrity lifestyle trends for years, it’s no surprise Jennifer Aniston does so well with brand partnerships. She embodies a relatable, yet enviable, lifestyle – it feels achievable, but still aspirational. Because of that, brands like Aveeno, Smartwater, and Eyelove have all tapped her as a spokesperson. In fact, Forbes estimates she earns over $10 million annually just from these endorsement deals!

Jennifer Aniston says the key to her great skin is simple: drink plenty of water! She often tells her friends to stay hydrated, and also emphasizes the importance of getting enough sleep, exercising, and eating a healthy diet when they can, as she shared with The Cut.

Jennifer Aniston surprisingly enjoys watching reality TV. She confessed to People magazine in 2015 that she’s fascinated by the Kardashians and Jenners, calling it a guilty pleasure.

Jennifer Aniston also admits to enjoying The Bachelor franchise. She even appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2016 to share her predictions for Nick Viall’s season, and she correctly identified Rachel Lindsay – who later became the Bachelorette – as a strong contender, proving she has a good eye for reality TV stars.

The actress admitted she loves the show, even though she calls it ‘guilty pleasure’ television. She described it as highly entertaining, but also a bit of a mess, saying the characters often bring trouble on themselves – all for our amusement. She playfully added that you can’t really feel sorry for them because they’re the ones who created their own problems.

Jennifer Aniston famously said she would never use social media, but she surprised everyone by joining Instagram in 2019 and briefly caused the app to crash due to the surge in followers.

Before creating her own social media account, Jennifer Aniston confessed to sometimes looking at other people’s Instagram profiles. She also revealed she’s very organized with her email, always keeping her inbox empty. “I make sure I answer every email and give people the information they need first thing in the morning,” she explained, “so you’ll never find millions of unread messages from me.”

Jennifer Aniston shared a story about first meeting Dolly Parton, whom she collaborated with on the Netflix film Dumplin’. She explained that she was a huge fan when they were introduced eight years prior.

She explained to Jimmy Kimmel that she’d met her idol that night because she’d been a fan since childhood – she even used to pretend to be Dolly Parton, singing into a hairbrush! She also confessed she’d named her dog after the singer.

Besides Dolly, her white shepherd named after Dolly Parton, Jennifer Aniston also had a dog named Norman, who passed away in 2011 at the age of 15. She honored him with her first tattoo – his name on her right foot.

She famously shared with James Lipton on Inside the Actor’s Studio that “Norman” was the word she loved most, a moment that often brings tears to fans’ eyes.

Since then, Aniston, along with her former husband Justin Theroux, has welcomed two dogs into her family: a pitbull named Sophie and a terrier named Clyde.

Okay, so even when she wasn’t actively on TV in 2018, Jennifer Aniston was STILL one of the highest-paid actresses – can you believe it?! Variety reported it, and honestly, it doesn’t surprise me. Then, when The Morning Show finally came out on Apple TV+ in 2019, she and Reese Witherspoon were getting a reported $1.1 million per episode! And get this – they’re both executive producers too! It’s just… amazing. She’s a total powerhouse, and deserves everything!

Everyone always asks celebrities who their celebrity crush is. It seems Jennifer Aniston is a popular answer among men in Hollywood! Both KJ Apa and Cole Sprouse, stars of Riverdale, have admitted to having crushes on her.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Apa confessed he has a crush on Aniston, surprisingly admitting he’s never actually watched Friends. Meanwhile, Sprouse fondly remembered working with her on the show – he and his twin brother Dylan played Ross’s son, Ben, on the sitcom.

Honestly, watching him talk about working with Jennifer was heartbreaking. He admitted he was completely head-over-heels for her, and it totally threw him off. He said he’d get so flustered and tongue-tied around her that he’d forget his lines and just… freeze. It was clearly a really tough situation for him, being so infatuated while trying to be professional.

Those popular young actors aren’t the first to be interested in Jennifer Aniston – several other well-known men have expressed their feelings for her years ago.

Jake Gyllenhaal admitted he had a long-time crush on Jennifer Aniston, and working with her on The Good Girl was a bit challenging because of it. He told People magazine it wasn’t easy to work alongside someone he admired for so many years, playfully stumbling over his words as he described the experience. He ultimately said it was a lovely, though somewhat difficult, time.

Ashton Kutcher shared that he made a bet when he was 17, wagering he’d date Mila Kunis – whose photo was his computer screensaver. Surprisingly, he actually got to go on a date with her while she was still married to Brad Pitt.

Ashton Kutcher shared on The Graham Norton Show that he once asked Brad Pitt for permission to date his wife. Surprisingly, Brad Pitt was supportive and told him to go ahead, but she ultimately turned him down.

Following her departure from Plan B, the production company she started with Brad Pitt in 2006, Jennifer Aniston and her close friend Kristin Hahn launched Echo Films in 2008. Echo Films, which has a partnership with Universal Pictures, has produced several of Aniston’s movies, such as The Switch, Cake, and Dumplin’.

Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler often appear in movies together due to their close friendship, and they most recently starred in Murder Mystery 2 in 2023.

Jennifer Aniston and George Clooney became friends when their shows, Friends and E.R., did a special crossover episode, and they’ve stayed close for many years. This continued even after Aniston’s divorce from Brad Pitt, who is also friends with Clooney and often worked with him. Aniston visited Clooney, his wife Amal, and their twins in Italy that summer. In a December 2018 interview with Ellen DeGeneres, she said it was wonderful to see him as a father, and they discussed how life can bring unexpected joys.

Jennifer Aniston has often shared the story of being pressured to lose weight before auditioning for Friends. She recalled her agent telling her in 1996, according to Rolling Stone magazine, that she wasn’t getting many roles because she was considered too heavy. While it was a harsh thing to hear, she said her agent was actually doing her a favor by being honest about Hollywood’s expectations.

I was so inspired when she lost weight with Nutri/System! She even went on The Howard Stern Show to share her story, and it was incredible. She talked about how amazing it was to rediscover her body, saying she didn’t even realize she had that body within her. It was truly a powerful moment to witness.

I’ve been following Jennifer Aniston for years, and it’s really resonated with me how openly she’s talked about the impossible standards Hollywood sets for women. It’s been over two decades since her ‘Friends’ days, and she’s really used her voice to address this issue, which I really admire.

In 2018, she told InStyle that it’s time to stop defining beauty by a specific body shape or size. She believes that focusing on a single ideal is outdated and that we should embrace a more inclusive view of beauty.

Following the #MeToo movement, Jennifer Aniston shared her experiences with workplace harassment. In an interview with InStyle, she explained that she’d faced inappropriate advances from fellow actors, which she addressed by removing herself from the situation. She also stated that, thankfully, no one in a position of power had ever made her feel uncomfortable or used their authority against her. Interestingly, Aniston noted that she’d often experienced more negativity and unkindness from other women in the industry than from men.

Jennifer Aniston deals with a fear of flying, which is challenging given her frequent work travel and desire to take vacations.

It began when I was in my 20s with a really unsettling flight. After that, I started paying attention to news reports about plane crashes, and I became fixated on the fear of dying in a plane. It completely took over my thoughts. It’s something I really want to overcome because it doesn’t make sense, it’s completely irrational.

Jennifer Aniston is the one who organizes things with her close friends in real life, according to her best friend, Kristin Hahn. Hahn described Aniston as the “social glue” of the group, telling Elle magazine that they feel lost without her when she’s away.

I’ve always admired Jennifer Aniston, and I was so interested to read her perspective on her divorces in Elle. She doesn’t see them as failures at all, which I think is really powerful. She actually said her marriages were successful to her, and that when they ended, it was a mutual decision made to prioritize happiness. She explained that sometimes, a relationship just doesn’t allow for happiness anymore, and they both realized that. It’s such a mature and honest way to look at things, and it really resonated with me.

In an interview with Elle, Jennifer Aniston shared that the idea of becoming a mother still feels scary to her. She explained that while some people naturally feel drawn to being wives and mothers, she isn’t sure that’s her path. She’s open to what the future holds, whether that includes a child and a partner, and how that might happen—or not. She also noted that advancements in science now offer options for having children at different stages of life.

Jennifer Aniston, like her fellow cast members from Friends, was deeply saddened by the death of Matthew Perry on October 28, 2023. She shared with Variety that she had been texting with him earlier that day, and he seemed like his normal, cheerful self.

“He was not in pain,” she recalled. “He wasn’t struggling.”

She shared a screenshot of their text conversation, showing Perry telling his old crush, “Making you laugh just made my day. It really did.”
