Fans of the medical drama Doc have a lot to celebrate! The show has quickly become popular on Hulu, recently climbing back into the top 10 most-streamed shows in the U.S., currently at number 8.

Doc Is a Rating Hit Across Broadcast and Streaming
As a TV fan, I’ve been really enjoying Doc on Fox. It’s become a solid hit for them! When it first came out last season, it quickly gained traction. And when Fox announced Season 3, they were really highlighting just how popular it is – they said it had 7.3 million viewers across all platforms, which was the highest for any show on the network that season. Pretty impressive, right?
Fox announced it’s renewing the hit show Doc for another 22 episodes after a very successful season. According to Fox Television Network president Michael Thorn, the show has become a standout performer, attracting the network’s largest multiplatform audience for any scripted series this season and gaining popularity on platforms like Hulu, Netflix, and internationally. He credited the show’s success to the creative team led by showrunners Hank Steinberg and Barbie Kligman, their partners at Sony, and the exceptional performance of Molly Parker, who brings depth and emotion to the lead role.
Katherine Pope, president of Sony Pictures Television Studios, expressed her excitement about continuing to work with Rob Wade, Michael Thorn, and the teams at Fox. She noted that the show Doc’s success is due to its engaging stories and strong acting, which have connected with viewers around the world. Pope specifically praised the writing of Hank and Barbie, as well as Molly Parker’s compelling performance as the show’s lead, and shared optimism for the show’s future seasons.
What Is Doc About?
Okay, so “Doc” is the American take on this really compelling Italian show called “Doc – Nelle tue mani” that started over in France a few years ago. What’s fascinating is that the whole thing is based on a true story! It’s about a doctor, Pierdante Piccioni, who was a head of emergency and got into a car accident. The accident wiped out his memory of the last twelve years of his life – pretty wild, right? It’s a really powerful premise.
Barbie Kligman is the creator of the TV series Doc. The show features Molly Parker as Dr. Amy Larsen, the head of internal medicine at a Minneapolis hospital. After a car accident, Dr. Larsen loses her memory of the last eight years. The cast also includes Omar Metwally, Jon Ecker, Amirah Vann, Anya Banerjee, Patrick Walker, and Charlotte Fountain-Jardim.
Although Doc is popular with viewers, critics haven’t been as impressed. Its first season currently has a 46% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is considered unfavorable.
