Nintendo has announced a new Mario Kart game is coming to the Switch 2. The last major Mario Kart release, Mario Kart World, came out last year after a long wait and quickly became one of the most popular games on the Switch 2. Now, players who enjoy the game will have a chance to enhance their experience with an upcoming upgrade from Hori.
Hori is releasing a new racing wheel designed for the Nintendo Switch 2 and inspired by Mario Kart World. While themed after the game, the wheel can be used with other titles as well. Pre-orders are now available on Amazon, and it will ship on March 23rd for $129.99.

This officially licensed Nintendo racing wheel is designed for comfort and a realistic racing experience. It features comfortable, textured grips, racing paddles, and is full-sized at 11 inches, complete with a pedal set. It connects to your console with a nearly 10-foot USB-A cable and can be securely mounted using either suction cups or a clamp. Plus, the buttons and controls on the wheel can be customized to fit your preferences.
Hori is a popular company that makes Nintendo accessories, and they’ve created many officially licensed products before. Generally, their products are good quality and affordable. It’s still unknown if this new steering wheel will meet those standards, though. Since it hasn’t been released yet, there aren’t any reviews from customers or the media.
It’s unclear if adding racing wheels will actually make Mario Kart World more enjoyable. While Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch had similar options, they weren’t widely popular, suggesting only a small group of players are interested. Racing wheels generally work better with realistic racing games than the fast-paced, arcade-style gameplay of Mario Kart.
