In the course of his podcast and the upcoming series titled “Alan Partridge: How Are You?” scheduled for this year, Steve Coogan’s portrayal of Alan Partridge represents another significant milestone along his prolonged artistic association with this iconic character.
Since 1991, Coogan has been portraying the satirical character of a famous TV and radio presenter, and in an interview with this week’s TopMob magazine, he confessed that over time, he and his fictional persona have become intertwined to some extent.
If someone inquired about whether he acknowledged that osmosis would occur between him and Alan Partridge, Coogan replied: “During our last TV series, I went into my trailer to change into Alan’s clothes, and I found a shirt identical to the one they had for Alan hanging there.
What I meant wasn’t ‘similar,’ but rather ‘identical’ in terms of pattern and label. It was indeed the same shirt. To keep my composure, I switched shirts with him for a while. Later that day, I removed it, hung it back up.
I felt compelled to take that action to make sure nothing had happened that made our situations overlap completely, leaving only one unique circumstance. I prefer to believe it’s still two overlapping circles, not just one.

In the upcoming Alan Partridge television show, formerly titled “And Did Those Feet…”, Alan finds himself back in his native Norfolk following a year’s stint overseas in Saudi Arabia. However, he seems unable to shake off an ongoing sense of discomfort.
As a film critic, I’d put it this way: “This series powerfully declares a thought-provoking message that’s set to reverberate: ‘I am Alan Partridge, and I’m far from thriving.’
In the upcoming fifth season of “The Trip,” Coogan is set to return to one of his recurring characters – the role of himself.
Exploring the remote, untamed regions of northern Europe, Coogan and Rob Brydon embark on a journey that encourages contemplation about aging, aspirations, family life, and celebrity status.
The summary describes The Trip to the Northern Lights as a blend of comedy (sitcom), travel experiences (travelogue), and introspective journey (midlife reckoning). This movie showcases Coogan and Brydon at their witty, bickering best.
