The 10 Most Exciting Spider-Man Villains Who’ve Never Appeared in the Movies

So far, Spider-Man has starred in seven movies of his own, but many of his famous enemies haven’t appeared on screen yet. His adventures go beyond those seven films, beginning with Sam Raimi’s trilogy in the early 2000s and continuing with Marc Webb’s two Amazing Spider-Man movies in the 2010s. More recently, Spider-Man joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), appearing in three solo films and several Avengers team-up movies. Meanwhile, Sony has also created movies featuring Spider-Man villains – like Morbius, Kraven the Hunter, and Venom – even when Spider-Man himself isn’t involved.

Despite that, we’re still hoping to see some awesome Spider-Man villains appear in future Marvel movies, as they could lead to really interesting stories.

10) Kindred

Okay, let me tell you about Kindred. He’s a really divisive Spider-Man villain, mostly because of how they revealed his identity. Honestly, if Marvel were to revisit his story, I’d strongly advise them to ditch the whole ‘two clones made from Norman Osborn and Gwen Stacy’s DNA’ angle – it just doesn’t land. But setting the backstory aside, Kindred himself is fantastic. He’s genuinely terrifying – a demonic force that really puts Spider-Man through the wringer. The visual design is amazing, and I think this villain is seriously underappreciated. He’s got huge potential and could be a real standout addition to a Marvel movie if they give him the chance.

9) Hammerhead

I’m really hoping we see Hammerhead in the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie! If they’re going with the mob war storyline from the comics, it just makes sense. He’s a classic Spider-Man villain who doesn’t get nearly enough attention, and his unique look – that steel-reinforced head! – is so cool. He’s always been a major crime boss in Spider-Man’s world, and I think it’s time Marvel finally gives him a proper role in a movie or Disney+ show. He deserves it!

8) Sin-Eater

I remember when Sin-Eater first showed up – he was a really unsettling villain. He actually killed Captain Jean DeWolff, a friend of Spider-Man’s who worked with the police. Turns out, the guy behind the mask, Stanley Carter, was a dirty cop trying to hide his own mistakes. Then, years later, he came back during the whole Kindred mess. He had this crazy gun that could take away people’s ‘sins,’ and unbelievably, he’s the one who stopped Norman Osborn from being a villain! Honestly, I think Sin-Eater is a fantastic villain, and the idea of someone stealing a villain’s evil… that would make an amazing movie, don’t you think?

7) Jackal

Miles Warren, also known as the Jackal, is a villain famous for creating complicated storylines around Spider-Man, most notably through the use of clones. He engineered not only Spider-Man duplicates like Ben Reilly and Kaine, but also clones of characters like Gwen Stacy. Introducing Miles Warren into the Marvel Cinematic Universe could be a bold move, offering a compelling narrative opportunity. Because this storyline doesn’t require a long-term commitment, the MCU could potentially adapt it successfully, bringing these clone characters to life.

6) Hobgoblin

The Green Goblin has appeared in three Spider-Man films: the original directed by Sam Raimi, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, where the original Green Goblin returns. There’s been talk of introducing the Hobgoblin—a separate villain—into the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies, but it hasn’t happened. The plan was for Ned Leeds to become the Hobgoblin, forcing Peter Parker to fight a friend, mirroring a storyline from the comics. This would have been a surprising twist, especially for fans of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day comic series.

5) Boomerang

Boomerang was a largely ignored character for a long time. But when he unexpectedly became roommates with Peter Parker – before either of them knew who the other was – it led to some fantastic story possibilities. This setup could work really well in the Marvel movies. In the comics, Boomerang started as a villain, but his friendship with Peter Parker – and later discovering Peter was Spider-Man – led him to question his life and eventually become a hesitant helper. This transformation made Boomerang a surprisingly compelling and often overlooked enemy-turned-ally of Spider-Man.

4) Black Cat

Some fans believe Felicia Hardy has been in the Spider-Man movies, but not as the Black Cat. She appeared in the Amazing Spider-Man films working for Oscorp, but it was never confirmed that this was the actual Felicia Hardy, and she never became the Black Cat. This means the Black Cat character hasn’t actually appeared in any Marvel movies yet, which is disappointing. She really deserves a spot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even outside of a Spider-Man film. She’s a fantastic antihero and should be included!

3) Tombstone

Tombstone has appeared in various Spider-Man animated series, including the recent Disney+ show which reimagined his backstory and age. While there’s speculation he might be in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, he hasn’t yet been featured in a Spider-Man movie. However, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently missing a compelling element from the comics: Tombstone’s relationship with Robbie Robertson. Tombstone is a fascinating crime boss in Marvel, and introducing him – along with his daughter, who goes by Beetle – could add a lot of potential to the MCU.

2) Morlun

Morlun is the most dangerous enemy in the Spider-Man Multiverse. He stays alive by draining the life energy from heroes connected to animal spirits, like Spider-Man and Black Panther. Across different realities, Morlun and his family have killed countless versions of Spider-Man, and he’s come very close to killing Peter Parker multiple times. He poses a serious threat to both Spider-Man and Miles Morales, making him an ideal villain to introduce if Marvel decides to unite them in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Avengers: Secret Wars.

1) Mister Negative

Many fans consider Mister Negative to be Spider-Man’s best villain who hasn’t been in a Marvel movie – but that’s about to change! He’s a compelling character because he’s both a powerful crime boss and someone struggling with a split personality. As Martin Li, he tries to do good, but his alter ego, driven by a form of Dissociative Identity Disorder, is dangerous and ruthless. His unique powers and memorable henchmen are sure to be a thrilling addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
