Tia Mowry is glad to be with someone new.
Three years after the Sister, Sister alum split from ex Cory Hardrict, she teased a new romance.
Okay, so I was totally scrolling through The Shade Room and Tia just… dropped a bomb! She said she’s in LOVE! Can you believe it?! She didn’t say who, which is killing me, but she did say she’s keeping it private, holding it close to her heart. Seriously, I need details! She shares Cree and Cairo with Cory, but this feels… different. I’m officially obsessed with finding out who she’s with!
Of course, the 47-year-old was willing to share how the new love is making her feel.
“I’m very grateful,” she mused. “I’m happy.”
This news from the Twitches actress follows a previous update from less than a year ago, when she described herself as a single mother.
In a July Instagram post that has since been deleted, Tia shared that she is currently single and raising her children on her own. She explained that she’s the only parent consistently present in their daily lives and recalled how difficult those first few nights were after her life changed.
She explained that the term ‘single mom’ doesn’t necessarily mean a mother raising children completely on her own, without any involvement from the father.
Tia Mowry, who rose to fame in the 1990s with her twin sister Tamera Mowry, has spoken about the difficult emotions she experienced when she separated from her husband in 2022 after 14 years of marriage, including feelings of guilt and shame.
In a December 2024 Instagram post, Tia shared that being a single mom sometimes feels challenging because her family doesn’t fit the traditional mold. However, she emphasizes that being different is perfectly fine and doesn’t diminish their value. Her priority is maintaining family traditions for her children, ensuring they feel connected no matter what their family structure looks like.
Although Tia and Cory both found the breakup hard, Tia decided it was important for her children to see her putting her own well-being first.

Tia shared in a 2022 interview on the Today show that women often prioritize the well-being of others, ensuring everyone around them is happy. However, she emphasized the importance of self-love, explaining that focusing on personal growth, self-acceptance, and recognizing one’s own value can lead to a powerful transformation.

Tia Mowry is responding to criticism she received after referring to herself as a “single mom,” even though she continues to co-parent her two children, 14-year-old Cree and 7-year-old Cairo, with her ex-husband, Cory Hardrict, who she finalized her divorce from in 2023. In a recent Instagram post, Tia explained that family structures can vary and still be filled with love and happiness. She clarified that being a “single mom” doesn’t always mean a mother is completely alone, and she acknowledged the difficulties faced by those who are. Tia emphasized that, for her, being “single” means she’s currently without a partner and is solely responsible for the day-to-day care of her children. She wants to highlight this often-overlooked aspect of co-parenting, as she adjusts to this new reality.

Following her divorce from Cory Hardrict in April 2023, actress Tia Mowry began to reflect on her life as a single woman. On the premiere of her reality show, Tia Mowry: My Next Act, which premiered in October 2024, she explained that having grown up with a twin sister, Tamera Mowry, she immediately entered a 22-year relationship with Cory. She realized she’d never truly been alone. Tia and Cory first met in 1999 while filming the movie Hollywood Horror, and their connection began as a friendship before blossoming into a romance. Tia shared that Cory was her first love and her first everything. She revealed on her We TV series that she met Cory when she was 20 years old and lost her virginity at 25, adding, “And then we got married!”

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always admired families built on love and shared experiences. Tia and Cory are a perfect example! They started their journey together back in 2008, and their family beautifully expanded with the arrival of their son, Cree, in 2011. Then, in 2018, they were blessed with a daughter, Cairo, completing their little family. It’s so heartwarming to see their love story unfold!
I was so sad when Tia and Cory announced their split in 2022. The divorce papers said ‘irreconcilable differences,’ which is pretty standard, but Tia later shared what really made her realize the marriage wasn’t going to work. It was heartbreaking to hear, but I appreciated her honesty about when she knew it was over.
Tia Mowry realized the importance of prioritizing her own happiness. In a November 2022 interview on Today, she explained that women often focus on making others happy – their children, friends, and family – but self-love is crucial. She described it as an awakening that happens when you begin to value and love yourself, even though it’s a challenging process. Ultimately, she believes it’s incredibly rewarding.
Following her decision to be honest about her divorce, Tia also wanted to be open with the public. As she shared in her show, Tia Mowry: My Next Act, she was simply tired of pretending everything was okay when it wasn’t and wanted to live authentically.

Tia also thought about how the divorce would impact her children, Cree and Cairo. In an interview with HelloBeautiful in June 2023, she explained that a big part of her decision was for them – she wanted them to see her living authentically. She believes it’s a valuable lesson, as it was an incredibly difficult choice. She hopes seeing her persevere, despite any doubts or criticism, will inspire them. She wants them to know their mother is pursuing what truly makes her happy and that they, too, can follow their own paths in life.
She continued, saying her greatest wish was for her children to live authentically. She didn’t want them to feel pressured to follow her expectations or those of others, but rather to embrace who they truly are. She hoped they’d understand it’s okay to have difficult days, to pursue happiness, and to live a life that feels genuine to them.

Though Tia and Tamera Mowry have been on television for years, they aren’t currently as close as they once were. Tia recently shared that going through her divorce has been difficult, and she misses having her sister to lean on. She explained that she wishes she could call Tamera for support, but they’re not at that point in their relationship right now.
I’ve been following Tia and Tamera for years, and it was a little sad to hear Tia talk about how our lives have diverged. She simply explained that we all have our own families, homes, and what we need out of life – meaning we just live very different lives now. Apparently, some people misinterpreted it! A friend of theirs clarified that it was originally about the fact that Tamera lives up in Napa and Tia’s here in Los Angeles, so they’re not physically close. Later, Tia herself explained she meant it wasn’t as easy to be there for each other, because of the distance. But she also said that’s okay, and actually a good thing, even if it’s a little hard sometimes.

Honestly, I was surprised to hear Tamera say she found out about Tia’s new reality show at the same time we did, the fans! She told Entertainment Tonight back in May that she really had no idea it was happening. And apparently, Tia didn’t ask her to be on it either – Tamera said she takes that as a definite no. But you know what? She seemed totally okay with it. She explained that Tia made it clear this was her story, and she respects that. Tia herself doesn’t seem to think it was a big deal she didn’t give Tamera a heads-up. She told the Associated Press in October that it’s normal not to share every single detail with everyone, and that it doesn’t mean anything is wrong. She’s living her life, and Tamera is living hers, and they don’t need to share everything with each other – which, honestly, is totally reasonable.

Tia and Tamera have openly discussed the challenges in their relationship. They even went to therapy together, as shown on their reality show, Tia & Tamera, which aired from 2011 to 2013, to improve how they talked to each other. Tamera explained in 2019 on The Real that their different personalities sometimes caused friction. She described herself as sensitive, while her sister is more assertive and independent. They both needed to learn how to communicate in a healthy way that worked for both of them.

Tamera Mowry grew up constantly being compared to her twin sister, Tia. She explained in a January 2024 YouTube video that it was inevitable – people naturally compare twins, looking for differences like facial features or personality traits. Initially, she didn’t take it personally, but as she got older and entered the public eye, the comparisons became hurtful. Her mother helped her realize that ‘comparison is the thief of joy.’ Tamera ultimately understood that even though she and Tia are identical twins, they are each unique individuals with different talents, and that’s perfectly alright.

Similar to Tia sharing details about her relationship with Cory, Tamera has also given fans insights into her marriage with Adam Housley. She’s described him as the love of her life, but acknowledges, like all couples, they go through good times and challenges.
Tamera, who married Adam in 2011, told TopMob News in May 2024, “Thirteen years feels like it’s flown by! You’ll always have ups and downs in a marriage. Ours isn’t perfect, but I still really like him – I like the person he is. And we’re growing closer, not drifting apart.”
They also make an effort to regularly communicate and support each other.
Tamera, who has two children, Aden and Ariah, with her husband Adam, suggests regularly checking in with your partner. She advises simply asking, ‘Are you happy?’ and ‘What can we do to stay happy together?’ She explains that she doesn’t just want a long marriage, but a happy one.

Tamera and Adam, married for over ten years, apparently still prioritize intimacy in their relationship. In a 2022 interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Tamera explained that setting sexual goals is key to her happy marriage and that women shouldn’t be afraid to talk about what they want. She even detailed some of those goals in her memoir, You Should Sit Down for This, listing adventurous locations like a skyscraper rooftop, inside a car during the rain, and every room in her house, as reported by Today.
She explained she wanted to challenge common expectations. “Take control of your relationship and embrace your sexuality – enjoy it!” she said. “Just because you’ve been married for a long time doesn’t mean the spark has to fade.”

Tamera Mowry-Housley has opened up about her experiences during her first four seasons on The Real. In her memoir, she described this period as a very difficult time, detailing struggles with anxiety, frequent vomiting, and excessive drinking, all compounded by the demanding work schedule and public attention. Despite these challenges, Tamera also cherishes her seven years with the show. When she announced her departure in 2020, she highlighted the lasting friendships she formed and the impactful interviews she conducted. She expressed pride in the show’s achievements, including two NAACP Image Awards and a Daytime Emmy.

With the recent trend of ’90s show reboots, many fans have been asking about a possible revival of Sister, Sister. While Tia and Tamera have explored the idea, they’ve found it challenging. Tia mentioned on The Real back in 2017 that they’d been trying for a few months but could only do so much. More recently, in May 2024, Tamera confirmed to Us Weekly that a reboot is officially not happening.
