Inside Pregnant Hailee Steinfeld’s “Gorgeous” Backyard Baby Shower

Hailee Steinfeld is feeling grateful after being showered with so much love.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I’m SO excited! Hailee Steinfeld is almost due with her first baby with Josh Allen, and she just shared photos from the baby shower her mom, Cheri, threw for her! It looked absolutely perfect – she gave us a peek into everything on social media, and it was the cutest backyard setup you’ve ever seen. I’m seriously obsessed and can’t wait for the little one to arrive!

Hailee shared that the small details, like the knitting station and cute gingham decorations, truly made her day special and memorable.

I recently had a beautiful baby shower in my backyard, planned entirely by my mom. It was a sunny Saturday in LA, and about 30 of the women I love most were there to celebrate with me, as I shared in my Beau Society newsletter.

She’d asked for some photos, so I shared a few from a folder I’d created for a future baby shower, if I ever had one. Using those, along with a nod to a classic nursery rhyme and a piece of gingham fabric, she put everything together beautifully. Seeing all those wonderful women gathered to celebrate me was incredibly meaningful. It’s amazing to think how much love there already is for this little one, even though no one has met them yet.

I was absolutely captivated by Hailee’s outfit on her big day! She chose this gorgeous cream-colored satin dress by Stella McCartney, and it looked incredible with the Jen Fisher earrings she wore. She even paired it with her favorite brown boots, and honestly, she just seemed so comfortable and radiant – it was perfect!

As someone who’s navigated a few style shifts myself, I totally get wanting to feel like you even when your body is changing. I recently spoke with an actress from Pitch Perfect who put it perfectly: the best maternity style is simply adapting your existing wardrobe! She said that when she found pieces she loved, they felt great whether she was expecting or not. That’s my biggest tip – focus on wearing things you already enjoy, and just adjust as needed. It’s all about feeling comfortable and confident in your own skin, no matter what stage of life you’re in.

Hailee chose a simple, natural look with straight hair and light makeup. She wanted to feel pretty and polished, but not overly done.

Hailee mentioned the party wasn’t a traditional baby shower, but nursery rhymes were a recurring element in the decorations. This was especially noticeable because nursery books were placed all around the space.

“Everyone brought a book,” she explained, “so this baby is building quite the little library.”

The shower featured lots of gingham—Hailee’s favorite pattern—everywhere you looked, from the furniture upholstery to the tablecloths and ribbons.

Although the whole day was special, the singer of “Love Myself” especially wanted to mention the amazing food and the fun knitting station her mom put together.

She said they had a light lunch of sandwiches and salads. Before the main course, they served appetizers, and the mini grilled cheeses with jam were especially good—she described them as amazing. There was also a large bowl of shrimp.

Hailee shared that everyone at the knitting station made a square, and all the squares are now being sewn together to create a baby blanket.

That station meant so much to me, because it instantly brought back memories of when Hailee and her mom first started acting together. It reminded me of where it all began for her, and it was really special to see that connection reflected there.

It feels incredibly special to me because my mom started knitting right around the time I made my first film. She was stuck in a trailer all day and needed a hobby, choosing knitting over Sudoku. We all joked she’d knit the entire red carpet – she just couldn’t stop!

Hailee reminisced, ‘She showed me how to knit a long time ago.’ While she admitted she isn’t great at starting or finishing a project, she happily contributed a knitted square to a baby blanket and feels like she’s rediscovered a joyful pastime.

During Paris Fashion Week, the actress from The Edge of Seventeen and her NFL player boyfriend were spotted on a date, both wearing similar khaki-colored outfits.

The NFL player publicly confirmed his relationship with his partner by sharing photos on Instagram, including a shot of them at the Eiffel Tower, on July 23rd.

Included in that same post, the “Starving” singer squeezed in for a photo with Josh’s family. 

Reporter Kay Adams, on her show Up & Adams, playfully nicknamed him “Mr. Hard Launch.” When asked about his relationship with Hailee, he shyly responded, “We love love.”

Hailee and Josh announced their engagement on Instagram on November 29, 2024, with a photo of Josh proposing and Hailee accepting with a kiss. They revealed they got engaged on November 22, 2024.

 

Josh and Hailee quickly became a public couple, appearing together on the red carpet at the NFL Honors just months after getting engaged. While accepting his MVP award, Josh lovingly acknowledged Hailee in his speech.

He told her she was his constant support and closest friend, adding that he wouldn’t have been able to achieve this moment without her.

The couple exchanged vows in a beautiful California wedding. The bride wore a strapless gown with elegant elbow-length gloves.
