Todd Howard confirms Elder Scrolls 6 now has Bethesda’s full focus

Bethesda is now fully focused on developing The Elder Scrolls 6, with most of its developers working on the game, according to studio head Todd Howard.

On March 17th, Bethesda revealed that Starfield is coming to PlayStation 5, along with significant updates and its last expansion. Now that development of the sci-fi role-playing game is complete, the studio is moving on to new projects, according to Todd Howard.

So, I just read an interview with the head of Bethesda over at GamesRadar, and they finally dropped some news that Elder Scrolls fans – including me! – have been hoping for almost ten years. It’s been a long wait, but it sounds like things are finally moving forward!

After eight years since it was first announced, and fifteen years after the release of Skyrim, most of Bethesda’s team is now working on The Elder Scrolls 6.

Bethesda now full steam ahead on The Elder Scrolls 6

In a recent interview, Howard revealed that most of the studio is currently focused on developing The Elder Scrolls 6. He described returning to that world after working on Starfield as a refreshing change, noting it feels very different from both Starfield and Fallout, and that the team is enjoying the process.

Wow, it feels like forever since Bethesda first said they were making a new Elder Scrolls game! In the time we’ve been waiting, they’ve put out so many other titles – Fallout 76, Starfield, a remastered Oblivion, and a bunch of Wolfenstein games. Plus, they published things like Rage 2, both Doom games, Deathloop, Ghostwire: Tokyo, Hi-Fi Rush, Redfall, and even an Indiana Jones game! Seriously, it has been a long time!

Okay, so everyone’s really focused on what Bethesda’s doing with the next installment in the fantasy series. We don’t have much info – just that they’re starting to seriously work on it. Honestly, it could be a while before it actually comes out, maybe even a next-gen game by the time we get our hands on it!

Even though it’s been nearly ten years since it was first shown, Howard says Bethesda is confident and happy with how its major game series are developing.

We’ll need to be patient until the studio is ready to reveal more details, but fans can be confident that The Elder Scrolls 6 is the next game they’re working on.
