Spider-Man 4 Trailer Hides Several MCU X-Men References

Some possible X-Men Easter eggs have been spotted in the Spider-Man 4 trailer.

The next Spider-Man movie, currently titled Spider-Man 4 or Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is coming to US theaters this summer. Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and the film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for his work on Wonder Man and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

It’s been four years since the events of No Way Home. Peter Parker is now an adult, living a solitary life after choosing to be forgotten by everyone he cares about. He continues to fight crime in New York, but as the city doesn’t remember him as Spider-Man, he’s fully dedicated to protecting it. However, the increasing demands of being a full-time superhero are causing him to physically change in unexpected ways, and a new wave of dangerous crimes introduces a powerful new enemy.

What X-Men references do we see in the Spider-Man 4 trailer?

Fans on Twitter have pointed out that the trailer identifies Peter as an “enhanced human” after he’s tested for his abilities. This labeling system is similar to how mutants are classified, although it doesn’t necessarily mean Peter is a mutant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Interestingly, Mark Ruffalo’s character, Bruce Banner, also says Peter’s DNA appears to be “mutating.”

Interestingly, the person running the tests on Spider-Man seems to be an agent named Ramirez. It’s not confirmed, but this could be Delores Ramirez, a character from Marvel comics who used to work for X-Desk, a group focused on monitoring mutants. Actress Liza Colón-Zayas might be playing this role, but it’s just a guess at this point.

Okay, the rumor mill is really churning when it comes to the upcoming X-Men and Spider-Man 4 trailer. Right now, a lot of people are convinced Sadie Sink is going to be playing Jean Grey, and honestly, the speculation is intense. But will it actually happen? That’s the big question, and we’ll just have to wait and see if these theories hold up when the trailer finally drops.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 4 arrives on July 31, 2026.
