About

Vanishing Starlight is an action-packed adventure game in the style of Metroidvania, blending cyberpunk aesthetics with the rich mythology of the Shan Hai Jing. You play as a prisoner who’s lost their memory and must travel across the stars to recover it, reconnect with people from their past, and uncover the truth about who they are.

Story

Welcome to Shanhai, a stunning but dangerous world. Though beautiful on the surface, it’s secretly ruled by a harsh and deceitful God, and many creatures are locked in a desperate fight to survive.

You play as Salt, a prisoner on death row who wakes up with no memory, trapped in a place called the Gibetuary. After escaping with the help of a mysterious guide, he meets others who have also lost their memories. Together, they try to uncover their forgotten pasts.

Past and present leave no trace with the truth buried deep.

Yet you are determined to make God aware: Light of a faint candle can set the heavens ablaze!
