According to the official description, things quickly get chaotic when Shaun tries to solve the problem using wacky inventions. With the farmer gone missing and a mysterious creature running loose near Mossingham, it sets the stage for a hugely entertaining family adventure.
The recently released trailer offers the first glimpse of the creature causing chaos, showing the terrified reactions of everyone at Mossy Bottom Farm.
The Beast of Mossy Bottom is the newest movie in the popular Shaun the Sheep series. Following the success of the first two films – Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015) and Farmageddon (2019) – it continues the adventures fans love. Both previous films were critically acclaimed and even received Academy Award nominations.
The release of the third film comes as Aardman celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026.
Justin Fletcher, John Sparkes, and Kate Harbour are the main voice actors in the new film. It’s the first feature-length movie directed by Steve Cox (known for ‘Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas’) and Matthew Walker (‘Lloyd of the Flies’), and the script was written by Mark Burton, who worked on ‘Paddington in Peru,’ and Giles Pilbrow, known for his work on ‘Horrible Histories’.

The movie was first announced in May 2025. Andrew Orr, a Sky Cinema executive, said at the time that they were thrilled to be working with Shaun the Sheep and bringing his adventures to their 2026 film lineup, given how well-known Shaun is.
We’re thrilled to be working with Aardman right now – it’s a fantastic period for the studio! We’re confident this film will delight fans of all ages with its humor, spooky moments, and wonderfully entertaining new characters.
Sarah Cox, creative director at Aardman, explained that Shaun the Sheep is a well-loved character enjoyed by audiences globally. Their new animated film offers a fun and spooky Halloween adventure that’s perfect for families.
Get ready for broken pumpkins, wacky experiments, and a furry creature causing trouble in Mossy Bottom – all with the usual hilarious fun from the Flock!
