Fans of the ITV crime drama Grace will be happy to hear that John Simm is returning as the detective, and we now have a confirmed start date for season six.
Okay, so mark your calendars! The new season kicks off on Sunday, March 29th at 8pm on ITV1 and you can also stream it on ITVX. From there, expect a new episode to drop each week, and just like before, each installment will be a nice, long two-hour watch. I’m already setting my DVR!
This season, John Simm will be back alongside returning cast members including Richie Campbell as Glenn Branson, Zoë Tapper as Cleo Moray, Laura Elphinstone as Bella Moy, Brad Morrison as Nick Nicholl, and Juliette Motamed as Vee Wilde.
Okay, so the guest stars this season are seriously good! We’ve got Rishi Nair from Grantchester, Ali Khan who was in Showtrial, Gurjeet Singh from Ackley Bridge, Hannah McClean of Blue Lights, Tamla Kari who I loved in DI Ray, and Sara Powell from The Killing Kind. I’m really excited to see what they bring to the show!

When filming for season 6 started in May 2025, Simm shared how much he enjoys being part of the show. He explained it’s been his longest role yet, but the fantastic team and enjoyable work make it impossible to resist returning. He’s excited to see how his character, Roy, develops in the new season.
The show’s final season concluded with a shocking twist: Grace discovered her boss, Assistant Chief Constable Cassian Pewe (played by Sam Hoare), was not only corrupt but had also been having an affair with her late wife, Sandy.
The investigation uncovered several new clues about Sandy’s disappearance, including significant gambling debts that made her vulnerable to the Benchdale organized crime group.

Sandy still owed money to a dangerous group, and they sent a chilling message to Grace through Cassian, who was in prison: they were going to target Bruno, the son of both Cassian and Sandy.
Fans can no doubt expect the repercussions of this to play out in season 6.
The sixth season of Grace begins airing on ITV1 and ITVX on Sunday, March 29th at 8pm. You can watch all five previous seasons on ITVX right now.
