Two EastEnders characters are starting a secret romance, but someone else already knows about it.
Max Branning (Jake Wood) is known for his many affairs, and he’s quickly exhausting the options in Walford. With his wedding coming up in January, everyone is still guessing who he’ll marry.
A recent episode of the show featured a glimpse into the future, showcasing several women who could become potential partners for a character: Cindy Beale (played by Michelle Collins), Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), and Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams).
In today’s episode, however, some vital clues could provide the answer.
Max had a good day with his wife, Linda, and their daughter, Annie, which brought him closer to Annie. It also helped mend things between Max and Linda after Max accidentally upset her on Mother’s Day.

After being excluded from the Beale-Branning party, he also turned down Linda’s invitation to hang out with her and her mother, Elaine Peacock, at The Queen Vic. This was unexpected, especially since he’d recently told his daughter, Lauren Beale, that he had strong feelings for Linda.
They’d kissed, but she felt hurt and betrayed when she found out he wasn’t truthful about his grandson, Louie, and the bullying of her son, Ollie.

Linda was pleased to see Max really trying to be a good father. She thanked him for helping out when things got difficult talking to her son, Johnny, who has been distant with her lately.
Even though Elaine doesn’t particularly like Max, she encouraged her daughter to go to The Prince Albert pub – where he was having a drink by himself – and tell him how she feels. She wanted her daughter to take the chance to express her feelings.
As she got closer to the bar, she was stunned to see Max and Cindy in a heated fight, ripping each other’s clothes off right in the window!

As you might remember, these two accidentally ended up together last year without knowing each other’s names. They both agreed it was a mistake and only made their existing conflict worse.
Even though Cindy and Max teamed up to expose Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness), their connection had always been just a friendship – until recently. Cindy admitted she couldn’t help being attracted to Max, and he felt the same way.
Honestly, watching Linda walk away was just devastating. You could see her heart breaking with every step. And poor Max? He’s really in a tough spot this time – I don’t think any explanation he comes up with will be good enough.
Could Cindy be the next Mrs Branning?
