Disney has announced the release dates for both The Incredibles 3 and Lilo & Stitch 2.
Disney announced at its shareholder meeting on Wednesday, March 18th, that a live-action sequel to Lilo & Stitch will come out on May 26, 2028. The third Incredibles movie is scheduled for release on June 16th.
Plot details remain under wraps for Lilo & Stitch 2, which was announced back in June 2025.
The new project will be written by Chris Sanders, who not only co-directed the original 2002 film and provided the voice for Stitch, but is also returning to voice the character in the 2025 version.
The live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch, released in May 2025, was a major hit, grossing over $1.03 billion worldwide.
The 2025 remake closely followed the 2002 film, but with a few adjustments – most notably, Stitch was portrayed as less aggressive and caused less damage.
Director Dean Fleischer Camp explained to TopMob that while Stitch’s actions could be quite destructive, and even a little violent, that kind of energy actually works well in animated stories and can be really funny.
He explained that while you can easily picture a comical car crash in a movie, it would be difficult for a director to film one using actual vehicles and people, simply because of the inherent risks and concerns.
We really focused on capturing what makes Stitch, Stitch – his unique personality and the chaotic, enjoyable energy of the film – while avoiding common issues we anticipated.

The third Incredibles movie, which fans have been waiting for, was officially announced in 2024.
We don’t yet know the specifics of the story for the new movie, but Peter Sohn, who directed ‘Elemental,’ will be directing it. This is the first time Brad Bird, a long-time director of the series, won’t be involved.
However, Sohn will remain involved as a screenwriter and producer.

When The Incredibles came out in 2004, it was a huge success, bringing in $630 million around the world.
Incredibles 2 went on to double that, pulling in $1.24 billion at the worldwide box office.
I’m so excited! It looks like we’ll finally get to see what happens next with Lilo & Stitch on May 26th, 2028, and then just a few weeks later, The Incredibles will be back on June 16th, 2028! I’ve already marked my calendar!
