Disney has announced the release dates for both The Incredibles 3 and Lilo & Stitch 2.
Disney announced at its shareholder meeting on Wednesday, March 18th, that a live-action sequel to Lilo & Stitch will come out on May 26, 2028, and the next Incredibles movie will be released on June 16th.
Plot details remain under wraps for Lilo & Stitch 2, which was announced back in June 2025.
I’m really excited to hear that Chris Sanders is writing the new film! He not only co-directed the original ‘Lilo & Stitch’ back in 2002, but he also was the voice of Stitch – and he’s coming back to voice him again for this one, which is fantastic news.
A live-action version of Lilo & Stitch was released in May 2025 and became a major hit, grossing over $1.03 billion worldwide.
The 2025 remake closely followed the 2002 film, but with a few differences – notably, Stitch was portrayed as less aggressive and caused less damage.
Director Dean Fleischer Camp explained to TopMob that while Stitch’s destructive behavior might seem intense, it actually works well for comedic effect in animation. He clarified that ‘violent’ might be too strong a term, but a certain level of energetic action can be very funny.
He explained that while you can easily picture a comical car crash in a movie, it would be incredibly risky and concerning for a director to actually film one using real vehicles and people.
We really focused on capturing the heart and energy of Stitch, including his mischievousness and the movie’s exciting action, while also avoiding any major problems we anticipated.

The third Incredibles movie, which fans have been waiting for, was officially announced in 2024.
Details about the plot of the new movie haven’t been released yet, but it will be directed by Peter Sohn, who previously directed ‘Elemental’. This marks the first time Brad Bird, a long-time director of the series, won’t be directing.
However, Bird will remain involved as a screenwriter and producer.

When The Incredibles came out in 2004, it was a huge success, bringing in $630 million around the world.
Incredibles 2 went on to double that, pulling in $1.24 billion at the worldwide box office.
I’m so excited – Disney just announced that Lilo & Stitch 2 is coming to theaters on May 26th, 2028! And if that wasn’t enough, Incredibles 3 will follow closely behind on June 16th, 2028. Mark your calendars, because I definitely will!
