Jack Black’s Animated Hit Returns to the Charts Ahead of New Sequel

I’m still totally hooked on the Super Mario Bros. Movie! It’s amazing how popular it continues to be – I keep seeing it trending, and now it’s doing really well on Peacock. Everyone’s excited for the sequel, and I totally get why – Jack Black was hilarious, and the whole movie is just a blast!

Recent data from FlixPatrol shows The Super Mario Bros. Movie is now the 9th most popular film on Peacock in the U.S., marking its return to the streaming charts three years after it first came out. The movie is also doing very well elsewhere – it’s currently the top choice on Vudu for rentals and purchases, even surpassing last year’s hit animated film, Zootopia 2.

As a huge film fan, I’m getting really excited for the new Mario movie! It’s coming out just weeks from now, and it looks amazing. This one takes Mario, Luigi, Peach, and the whole crew into space! They’re facing a pretty scary enemy, but luckily they’ll have some new friends helping out, like Princess Rosalina and Yoshi. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out!

The majority of the original voice actors are back for the next Super Mario Galaxy Movie, with Chris Pratt returning as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach. Joining them are new cast members Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr., Donald Glover as Yoshi, and Brie Larson as Princess Rosalina.

The Super Mario Franchise Is About to Get Bigger

The new movie introduces fresh characters, worlds, and stories, hinting at many future sequels and spin-offs – but this is just the start for Nintendo’s growing movie universe. While Mario is currently the focus, other classic Nintendo games are also being developed into films.

I’m so excited for the upcoming live-action Legend of Zelda movie! It’s a huge step for Nintendo, being their first live-action film in a really long time. Honestly, I think this movie will be a big indicator of what Nintendo does with its properties in the future. If it does well, we could see live-action versions of so many other games – I’m really hoping for a Metroid movie if this one takes off!

Beyond the projects already announced, there’s talk of even more films in the works, including a possible Super Smash Bros. movie that would bring together all of Nintendo’s upcoming films. The Super Mario Galaxy movie is just the beginning, and Nintendo hopes to create a new franchise that could rival other major cinematic universes with its wide range of characters.

You can now watch The Super Mario Bros. Movie on Peacock. And mark your calendars – The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be in theaters on April 1, 2026.
