As a big fan of creepy shows, I’m seriously hyped about this! After seven years, AMC is bringing back one of their most disturbing series ever – the one that really put them on the map for horror. Before it was all about zombies, The Walking Dead slowly became a huge cultural phenomenon and launched this massive franchise. Let’s be real, not every horror show AMC tries hits it out of the park – Preacher wasn’t quite the same – but even if a show doesn’t become a blockbuster, it can still be really good. That’s why I’m so excited for Season 3 to drop on May 7th – this original series always delivered!
AMC’s anthology series, The Terror, began in 2018 with a story starring Jared Harris and Ciarán Hinds about a 19th-century expedition attempting to navigate the Northwest Passage, facing both realistic dangers and eerie, supernatural occurrences. The second season, The Terror: Infamy, shifted to World War II and followed a California town haunted by a creature from Japanese folklore, known as a ‘bakemono.’ The upcoming third season, The Terror: Devil in Silver, will center on a man held in a mental institution who must confront similar threats – both grounded in reality and beyond explanation.
The new season features a stellar cast including Dan Stevens, Judith Light, CCH Pounder, Aasif Mandvi, John Benjamin Hickey, Stephen Root, Michael Aronov, and Marin Ireland. Behind the camera, Ridley Scott is an executive producer, and Karyn Kusama, known for directing The Invitation and Jennifer’s Body, directed the first two episodes of this six-episode season.
