Right, we need words with Square Enix after this one.
The most recent edition of the Japanese gaming publication Famitsu showcases fresh Computer-Generated (CG) images related to Final Fantasy 9, causing renewed discussions about a possible remake, following the earlier buzz in the month.
A few weeks ago, the timeless classic from the PlayStation 1 turned 25 years old, and since there’s been a lot of chatter about remakes and speculation, many enthusiasts were expecting an official announcement to be made.
Apart from not doing so earlier, Square Enix has remained quiet about Final Fantasy 9 until recently, as evidenced by the intriguing magazine cover that emerged more recently.
Is there any truth to the rumors? Might Famitsu reveal more details? It’s unlikely, but the speculation will persist as people continue to link together the (progressively faint) clues.
Surely, it’s hard not to peek at the Tokyo Game Show in September; it seems like all this excitement can’t be just about anniversary merchandise, doesn’t it? We’ll just have to keep waiting, I guess…
How do you feel about the idea of remaking Final Fantasy 9, and has that stance changed or remained the same for you? If you have any words of reassurance for Vivi, feel free to share them in the comments section below.
