Dakota Mortensen is sharing his perspective.
After a video from a 2023 altercation with his ex-wife, Taylor Frankie Paul, went public, leading to the cancellation of her season of The Bachelorette on ABC, the 33-year-old has spoken out about the allegations of domestic violence.
Dakota said in a statement on March 19th that the video is very disturbing. She added that she’s sadly become accustomed to false accusations about herself and her relationship, and she firmly denies them.
The reality TV personality, who has a two-year-old son with Taylor, said she’s prioritizing their child’s well-being and hopes Taylor will do the same.
Following the release of a video showing their argument from 2023 on March 19th, a Disney Entertainment representative told TopMob News that they have decided to postpone the upcoming season of The Bachelorette. Their priority is now supporting the family involved.
Taylor’s representative released a statement saying she appreciates ABC’s understanding as she focuses on keeping her family safe and secure.
After enduring years of severe mental and physical abuse and fearing further harm, Taylor is now finding the courage to confront her abuser and is taking action to protect herself and her children.

Taylor and Dakota, who have a 2-year-old son together, were reportedly involved in a disagreement at home in February 2026. The Draper Police Department confirmed to People magazine that they are currently investigating an alleged domestic assault involving the couple, with both Taylor and Dakota accusing each other.

Throughout the investigation, a representative for Dakota stated that his client’s main concern was the welfare of his son.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen this dynamic play out many times. His team shared with me that he was aware this February incident might surface, but he intentionally stayed quiet about it. Why? He’s really been hoping to maintain a good relationship with Taylor, especially for the sake of co-parenting. It hasn’t been easy, but he’s prioritizing a healthy co-parenting dynamic above all else.

Filming for season five of Mormon Wives stopped after reports of a disagreement surfaced. Taylor, who is a producer on the Hulu show, explained she doesn’t control the day-to-day production decisions, and the timing of the halt was especially difficult as she was also starting her season of The Bachelorette.
It’s been tough seeing the news lately, especially with the new season of The Bachelorette coming out,” she shared on Good Morning America on March 18th. “This should be a really happy and fun time for everyone involved.
I always try to be honest and say what’s on my mind, and people know that about me. So, when the moment feels right, I will speak up.
Okay, so Taylor – seriously, the most amazing person ever – she has these two incredible kids, Indy who’s eight and Ocean who’s five, with her ex, Tate Paul. But she keeps saying, and it’s SO sweet, that being a mom is everything to her. It’s just… everything she cares about, and honestly, it makes me love her even more!
She explained that her children are her top priority. Balancing being present with worrying about family and current events has been a difficult and stressful process for her.
