Big Mama, one kid.
Rapper Latto announced she’s expecting a baby in the music video for her new song, “Business & Personal (Intro).”
About a minute into the video, released on March 20th, the scene changes to the 27-year-old making a scrapbook filled with childhood photos of her and her boyfriend, 21 Savage. One page displays a positive pregnancy test, with a note saying she only needed one test because she already suspected she was pregnant.
Making the reveal, Latto rapped, “Car seat, got a kid on the way.”
The video then shows Latto (Alyssa Michelle Stephens) displaying her growing baby bump while wearing a white two-piece outfit. In a touching scene, she stands in a nursery, and a hand – presumably a partner’s – gently rests on her belly.
Latto confidently shows off her baby bump throughout the latter part of the song, sporting stylish maternity outfits from Chanel and Gucci. She raps about embracing this new phase of her life, playfully stating that her baby won’t slow her down – in fact, she’s only gaining momentum.
Latto further confirmed her news and announced her forthcoming album Big Mama.
Latto announced on Instagram on March 20th that her album, ‘BIG MAMA,’ will be released on May 29th. She shared a photo of herself with a baby cheetah while showing off her pregnancy. She also mentioned that the song and music video for ‘Business & Personal (Intro)’ are now available, and expressed her gratitude.
Lots of celebrities congratulated the ‘Sunday Service’ rapper after she shared her exciting news. 50 Cent simply wrote ‘Congratulations,’ while SZA exclaimed ‘GORGEOUS!!!!Congratulations!’ and Angel Reese playfully cheered, ‘Ahhh big mommmyyyy!! So happy for you.’
Latto publicly revealed she’s been dating 21 Savage (born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph) after fans had been speculating about their relationship for years. This announcement comes after six months of them confirming their romance.
In a recent interview with TMZ on September 29th, Latto jokingly referred to someone as her “husband” before heading to dinner. When asked about rumors that she’s dating the artist she worked with on “Pull Up,” she enthusiastically confirmed her affection, saying, “Yes, my man, my man, my man!”
Latto has kept her boyfriend’s identity private, but she’s very open about showing her affection and enjoying their relationship.
In an August 2024 interview with Apple Music, she shared that finding someone who encourages and supports you is the most important thing. While her generation appreciates luxury items like Birkin bags and nice cars, she emphasized that true happiness comes from finding a partner who helps you grow and become your best self.
