
Tonight’s the night! Saturday Night Live UK is finally premiering on Sky One, and it promises to be a great show.
Tina Fey, formerly the head writer for Saturday Night Live, will kick off the first episode of the new UK version of the show. Plus, you’ll be introduced to a great group of British comedians as the series begins.
Tonight’s show is being filmed in front of a live audience. Expect a beginning stand-up routine, funny scenes based on current events, live musical performances, and a British version of the ‘Weekend Update’ segment.

Celeste Dring

Celeste Dring is a comedian, writer, and actress who’s popular for her work on shows like Wanderlust and The Windsors.
She started performing comedy in 2013 with a small theatre group, which eventually became a partnership called Lazy Susan. Alongside Freya Parker, Lazy Susan gained recognition at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, earning a nomination for a newcomer award, and even had their own sketch comedy show on BBC Two.
Throughout her career, Dring has also been on the show This Country and contributed voice work to Sketchorama on BBC Radio 4.
Hammed Animashaun

Hammed Animashaun is an actor who has performed in both theatre and television. He’s appeared on stage in productions like A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Barber Shop Chronicles, and Kiss Me, Kate, and on screen in Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time and the BBC comedy Black Ops.
He received the award for Best Male Comedy Performance at the 2024 Royal Television Society Programme Awards for his work on that show. That same year, he was also a nominee for the same award at the BAFTA TV Awards.
Larry Dean

Larry Dean started doing stand-up comedy in 2010 while he was at university, and has been performing ever since.
Dean, like several of his colleagues, frequently performs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He’s previously showcased shows like ‘Fandan’ and ‘Fudnut,’ which you can find on his YouTube channel.
He has also appeared on Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and Gifted.
George Fouracres

George Fouracres is a stage actor who has performed in many productions, notably at Shakespeare’s Globe. His roles include performances in Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing, The Tempest, and The Comedy of Errors.
He was also one part of comedy sketch group Daphne, alongside Phil Wang and Jason Forbes.
His TV and film credits include Steve, The Franchise and Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared.
Jack Shep

I’m a big fan of Jack Shep – he’s a really funny actor and comedian. I’ve seen him in shows like Big Boys, Changing Ends, and even This Place Is a Sthole, which was hilarious!
He’s a comedian who’s done stand-up, created online comedy content, and was a finalist for the BBC New Comedy Award in 2023.
Ayoade Bamgboye

I was so impressed with Ayoade Bamgboye! She’s a comedian who absolutely killed it at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2025 with her first ever solo show, ‘Swings and Roundabouts.’ Seriously, she was amazing – she won the award for best newcomer right away!
You can also see her in the Channel 4 Comedy Playground short, Rise and Shine with Channel 9. She also assisted director Yorgos Lanthimos on his Academy Award-winning film, Poor Things.
Al Nash

Al Nash is a comedian and actor known for his popular online sketches, which have been viewed over 100 million times on social media.
He frequently performs stand-up comedy and hosts a variety show called Al Nash & Friends at The Moth Club in London.
Paddy Young

I’ve been keeping an eye on Paddy Young for a while now – he’s a really promising actor and comedian. You might remember him as Jeb in the second season of “Everyone Else Burns,” and he’s also popped up in shows like “Mitchell and Webb Are Not Helping” and “Timewasters.” He’s definitely one to watch, and I’m excited to see what he does next.
In 2023, his first comedy show, ‘Hungry, Horny and Scared,’ earned him a nomination for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for best new comedian.
Ania Magliano

Ania Magliano is a comedian and writer who’s been gaining popularity since reaching the finals of the Funny Women Awards in 2020.
I’ve been a huge fan of this comedian for a while now – her stand-up is brilliant! But she’s not just a stage performer. I’ve seen her absolutely kill it on shows like Taskmaster and Live at the Apollo, and she was even part of Clash of the Comics. Plus, I recently found out she’s a writer for Amelia Dimoldenberg’s hilarious Chicken Shop Date – seriously impressive range!
Annabel Marlow

Annabel Marlow is an actress and comedian best known for playing Katherine Howard in the first performances of the musical Six.
Her one-person show, …Is This Okay??, was also a complete success at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, selling out every performance.
Emma Sidi

Emma Sidi is an actress, comedian and writer who has worked across stage and screen.
Emma Sidi is a comedian who’s been on popular TV shows like W1A, Stath Lets Flats, Starstruck, Ghosts, and Taskmaster. She’s also a regular performer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where she recently debuted her 2024 show, ‘Emma Sidi Is Sue Gray’.
