Remakes of Two PS2 Games Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 This Year

This year, Nintendo Switch 2 will get remakes of two beloved games originally popular on the PlayStation 2. While these games were also available on the original Xbox, they’re largely remembered as PS2 titles due to the PlayStation 2’s massive success. No matter which console you associate them with, you’ll soon be able to enjoy them on the Switch 2.

I’m so excited! I remember playing the original Destroy All Humans back in 2005 on the PS2 – it was such a fun game, even if it didn’t get the highest scores. It did really well though, which led to Destroy All Humans 2 in 2006. I always figured the originals would stay stuck on older consoles, but Black Forest Games and THQ Nordic have been doing a great job with remakes. The first remake came to Switch already, which was awesome, but the second one never did… until now! This year, both remakes are coming to the Switch 2, and I’m especially thrilled because it means I’ll finally be able to play the remake of Destroy All Humans 2 on a Nintendo console for the first time!

Destroy All Humans!

The updated version of Destroy All Humans is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on June 23, 2026, and will cost $30. It will also include the Skin Pack DLC. While it stays true to the original game, it’s been completely rebuilt. When it first launched, it received scores between 66 and 71 on Metacritic, which is slightly lower than the original game’s scores.

Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed

The updated version of Destroy All Humans 2 will be released on September 15, 2026, and will cost the same as previous versions. The original game received a score of 74 on Metacritic when it first came out, mirroring the score of the first game’s remake. However, reviews for the remake currently range from 68 to 72, which is comparable to the score of the first Destroy All Humans remake.

Currently, there are no announced remakes of any other Destroy All Humans titles. However, the recent release of updated versions of the existing games could suggest that another remake is planned. This remains speculation for now. What is confirmed is that THQ Nordic will be releasing a remake on the Nintendo Switch later this year – a game that was originally only available on the Wii.
