Vin Diesel Prepares to Say Goodbye to Fast & Furious With Final Film

Vin Diesel, a famous actor known for his roles in action movies, has been a part of a popular film series for 25 years. Now, as the series prepares to conclude with a final movie, Diesel is committed to giving fans a satisfying ending.

Vin Diesel shared a heartfelt message on Instagram about the upcoming end of the Fast & Furious series. He posted a photo with screenwriter Michael Lesslie (known for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes), announcing Lesslie’s involvement with the final installment, Fast Forever. Diesel hinted that the story will conclude where the first movie started, emphasizing the importance of a satisfying ending for fans.

The 25-Year Journey Is Coming to an End

For 25 years, the Fast & Furious saga has had eight different directors. Many writers, crew members, and actors have contributed their talent to this franchise, making it last longer than anyone expected. This kind of success doesn’t happen by chance – it’s the result of dedicated people working together on a project that’s bigger than themselves.

Talking with Mike Leslie about his ideas for improving the next part of the story brought back that same exciting feeling – the sense that this story truly had heart.

Finishing a project like this carries a lot of weight – you feel a real responsibility, especially to everyone who worked hard to make it happen and to the fans who stuck with it. It’s something you don’t take for granted, but use to motivate you. When we learned we were filming again in the same city where the first movie was made, it all felt right. The city still had that same energy and spirit, and being back there to finish the story felt like more than just a practical decision – it was a special opportunity.

Vin Diesel Also Teased Rock ‘Em, Sock ‘Em Robots

Vin Diesel recently hinted at his new movie based on a popular Mattel game. He shared a heartwarming story about his mother, who has read the scripts for all his films since the 1990s. She loved this script, feeling a personal connection to the story and imagining it becoming a beloved classic in homes everywhere. Diesel says he feels similarly about the Fast & Furious movies, emphasizing how important the teamwork and collaborations have been to their success.

“That’s why I stay,” Diesel said. “It’s amazing to be around so many talented people who care about the same things. One idea sparks another, and working together leads to unexpected opportunities. No one creates great things on their own, and that’s always been true. What I love most about this job is the chance to build something with others that none of us could achieve individually.”

The Fast and the Furious franchise began in 2001 and quickly became a blockbuster series, earning over $7 billion worldwide. Since the first film, there have been nine sequels, most recently Fast X in 2023, plus the spin-off Hobbs & Shaw in 2019. The series will conclude with a final film, Fast Forever, directed by Louis Leterrier, who also directed Fast X. After some delays, the film was officially announced this year.

As of now, Fast Forever is dated to release in theaters on Mar. 17, 2028.
