Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen is nearing its end, and recent episodes have introduced a character who may be even more powerful than Gojo, potentially the strongest character in the series. The season is currently focused on the Culling Game arc, following Yuji and Megumi as they strive to reach their objective. Yuji’s victory over Higuruma allowed them to add a new rule to the game, but the real threat comes from the powerful, ancient sorcerers brought into the game by Kenjaku, setting up a major confrontation with the heroes.
The conflict has been growing over the past couple of episodes, especially after Megumi met Reggie Star, a powerful, ancient sorcerer with his own followers. Things took an unexpected turn when Megumi found himself facing many enemies at once, and a new character, Fumihiko Takaba, entered the scene. Takaba, who recently awakened his powers during the Culling Game, initially seems like a source of comic relief, but his ability, revealed in the latest episode, hints at a strength that could be greater than anyone else we’ve seen so far.
The New Culling Game Player’s Defensive Power Is Literally a Joke

During the fight between Megumi and Reggie Star, Takaba was battling Iori, who could turn parts of his body into explosives. The latest episode showed Megumi winning his fight, then shifted focus to Takaba and Iori. Iori became frustrated because Takaba wasn’t getting hurt, even claiming he’d already defeated him multiple times. After learning about Reggie’s defeat, Iori gave up. The narrator then explained Takaba’s unique cursed technique, called Comedian, which makes anything Takaba finds funny become real. It’s incredibly powerful, even capable of opposing Gojo Satoru. Comedian is especially strong defensively – if Takaba believes something impossible, like surviving the end of the world, his technique would actually make it happen.
Takaba’s power is based on what he finds funny. If he genuinely laughs at Gojo’s attacks, he’s immune to them, making him potentially the strongest character in the series. However, Takaba doesn’t understand how his power works – he only survived his fight with Iori because he actually found everything amusing. To beat Gojo, Takaba needs to truly be entertained by his attacks, stay confident, and outlast him until Gojo’s energy and will are depleted. This makes Takaba incredibly powerful in Jujutsu Kaisen, but only if he can maintain a genuine sense of humor.
