Taylor Frankie Paul won’t be told what to do. 

Following the cancellation of her season on The Bachelorette due to accusations of domestic violence, the reality star addressed a TikTok user who advised her to take a break from social media during this difficult period.

A TikTok user pointed out that Taylor Frankie Paul shouldn’t be on her phone right now. They noted she was responding to comments and sharing TikToks at a time when her personal life had become very public, suggesting her team should limit her access to social media. The user was specifically surprised she was engaging with supportive posts and comments on Instagram.

In response to the video, Taylor, 31, commented, “Want me to stare at the wall instead?”

ABC recently canceled the 22nd season of The Bachelorette, which was scheduled to begin airing on March 22nd with Taylor as the lead. This decision came after TMZ released a video on March 19th showing a physical fight between Taylor and her former partner, Dakota Mortensen.

In the video, the older of Taylor’s two children with her ex-husband, Tate Paul, is heard crying during the argument. Taylor had previously admitted guilt to one charge of aggravated assault related to this incident and is still on probation, which ends in August.

On the day the video came out, Dakota requested and received a temporary order for custody of his and Taylor’s 2-year-old son. This order will remain in place until a court hearing on April 7, according to documents obtained by People magazine on March 20.

On March 19th, a representative stated that Taylor is beginning to overcome years of severe mental and physical abuse, along with threats, and is now prepared to confront her abuser and protect herself and her children from future harm.

The spokesperson explained that many women are quietly enduring hardship caused by former partners who are controlling, possessive, and won’t allow them to rebuild their lives.

In a statement to TopMob News on March 19th, Dakota said he was accustomed to false accusations about himself and his relationship, and he firmly denied them all.

Taylor Frankie Paul, who gained popularity on TikTok as #MomTok, was arrested in Utah on February 17, 2023, following an altercation with her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. According to court documents obtained by ABC 4 Utah, she allegedly threw metal chairs and a wooden playset at him while one of her children was present. She shares these children with her ex-husband, Tate Paul.

Court records show Taylor faces several charges, including aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence that injured a child, simple child abuse, and criminal mischief, according to documents released by the Salt Lake County District Attorney and reported by TopMob News.

In this particular situation, police reports indicate a man, Dakota, told officers he was having an argument with his girlfriend. He explained that when he tried to leave, she began physically assaulting him. In August 2023, Taylor admitted guilt to a serious assault charge, as shown in court records obtained by the Salt Lake Tribune. Four other charges against them were dropped and cannot be filed again.

For three years, the charges against her were put on hold. If Taylor followed the conditions of her agreement, the case would then be filed as a Class A misdemeanor, according to court records.

As part of her agreement, Taylor was required to undergo assessments for substance abuse and domestic violence, and complete any treatment recommended for the next three years. She also had to avoid breaking any major laws.

Taylor and Dakota welcomed their son a week ahead of schedule. On April 4, 2023, Taylor shared a photo from the hospital on Instagram, expressing their joy and writing, ‘These past two weeks with him have been wonderful. We all love him so much, and we’re grateful he’s brought our families together.’

Taylor told TopMob News that the fight with Dakota was definitely their lowest point.

She explained that he supported her because he understood what was really happening, even the things no one else knew. “It was a terrible night, and I really regret how things went,” she said. I recall throwing objects, and I didn’t recognize my daughters who were on the couch. We had babysitters, so they were probably upstairs asleep. Apparently, Dakota tried to tell me my five-year-old was there too, but I was so out of it that I didn’t even care, and I threw another chair.

She later shouted at him to stay away from her daughter.

According to a police report obtained by TopMob News in 2023, the child was struck by a stool.

Following the video’s release, a representative for Taylor told TopMob News that it was part of an effort to damage her reputation. They said the video left out important information and was intended to shift attention away from Dakota’s behavior. Dakota, however, dismissed Taylor’s accusations as untrue.

According to her representative, she’s been secretly dealing with years of severe emotional and physical abuse, along with threats. Now, she’s finding the courage to confront the person responsible and is taking action to protect herself and her children from future harm.

The statement also highlighted that many women are silently struggling with abusive, controlling ex-partners who won’t allow them to rebuild their lives.

Taylor’s representative said she is considering her next steps, getting support, and will eventually talk publicly about what happened.

Dakota addressed claims of domestic violence involving him and Taylor, stating in a March 19th interview with TopMob News that the video of the incident is “deeply upsetting,” as anyone who has seen it would likely agree.

He stated he was sadly accustomed to false accusations regarding himself and their relationship, and firmly denied them all.

Dakota explained they are prioritizing their two-year-old son’s well-being and expressed a wish for Taylor to do the same.
