There are many reasons why people adore the Resident Evil series. It’s earned its place as a favorite among horror fans thanks to its expertly crafted scares and incredibly detailed game worlds. But it’s not just about the horror – the games also have a surprising amount of humor. This humor is actually essential; it provides a welcome break from the intense moments, letting players breathe and relax. A prime example is Leon S. Kennedy, who’s famous for his perfectly timed, often terrible, one-liners. Few characters are as dedicated to saying the most inappropriate thing at exactly the right moment. Whether he’s facing off against cults, monsters, or global catastrophes, Leon always manages to deliver a delightfully awful line that’s either charming or completely wild.

I often wonder which other games would be funny with a character dropping dad jokes or one-liners. It’s not about ruining a game’s serious atmosphere – writers put a lot of thought into that! – but just… why not try it? Picture Leon from Resident Evil suddenly appearing in Elden Ring. Elden Ring is a bleak and tragic world full of incredibly difficult bosses. It’s a place of ruin where nobody jokes around. But Leon wouldn’t let that stop him.

Margit, the Fell Omen

Margit, the first boss in Elden Ring, immediately shows players how challenging the game will be with his powerful, delayed attacks and constant aggression. He quickly tests Leon with sweeping attacks, trying to overwhelm him. However, Leon calmly circles, studying Margit’s movements and learning the patterns of his attacks, treating it like any other boss fight where recognizing the cues is key.

Malenia, Blade of Miquella

Malenia is a notoriously difficult boss in recent video games, famous for her quick attacks, ability to heal by hitting you, and constant aggression. Leon would instantly recognize her dangerous posture and know he’s in for a tough fight, but he presses on, determined to see it through.

Godrick the Grafted

Godrick is a ruthless leader obsessed with power, and he unnaturally attaches extra limbs to his body in a frantic effort to become more powerful. Leon would instantly recognize this as a disturbing and unnatural creation, like any other grotesque being built from mismatched parts.

Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon

This boss battle is a challenging two-part fight that goes from a creepy, chaotic classroom to powerful cosmic magic. The first part of the fight with Rennala is complete mayhem, with students moving around, furniture flying, and a glowing spot that Leon quickly targets. Once Rennala starts using moon-based magic, Leon focuses less on the story behind the fight and more on simply surviving.

Lady, could you get your kids to stop throwing books at me?

Starscourge Radahn

This famous general seems to control the very stars, all while riding a horse far too small to support his weight. Leon would be stunned by Radahn, needing a moment to take it all in.

Morgott, the Omen King

Margit is back, and she’s even more furious and powerful than before, determined to not let Leon escape consequences. Leon, however, probably sees this as an unwanted second fight.

Didn’t we already settle this?

Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy

In Elden Ring, the Lord of Blasphemy is a huge serpent god with a creepy invitation to “join the family”—it’s clear he’s not making a friendly request. Leon, however, listens just long enough to grasp the offer, and he’s always polite while doing so.

I’ll pass on joining the family.

Fire Giant

He was a huge, sorrowful protector, and just his size made the battle feel impossible. Leon spent almost the entire fight looking up, trying to avoid being crushed by something as big as a building. He wouldn’t point out the enemy’s weakness until he’d figured it out.

Talk about having two left feet.

Maliketh, the Black Blade

Maliketh is one of the quickest and most challenging bosses in Elden Ring, able to defeat players incredibly fast. The encounter would likely be a frantic struggle for survival, leaving little time for dialogue. Leon, the character, wouldn’t get a chance to deliver his usual lines; instead, players would be focused on dodging and attacking, perhaps offering a frustrated groan or eye roll as a response to Leon’s commentary afterward.

Sir Gideon Ofnir, the All-Knowing

It’s a familiar scenario: someone acts like they have all the answers and then tries to test Leon. He’s encountered this attitude before – even back in his days fighting in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 – and it rarely goes well for the challenger.

You should’ve known how this ended, buddy.

Godfrey, First Elden Lord / Hoarah Loux

Godfrey is a noble fighter who realizes he doesn’t need titles or status and begins to fight more directly. He starts with calculated moves, but quickly descends into brutal, unrestrained combat. Leon would adapt to this change in fighting style.

Radagon of the Golden Order

Radagon is a man of few words, and Leon is even more concise – particularly when facing a massive, glowing hammer threatening to crush him.

Elden Beast

This otherworldly being doesn’t feel like a typical enemy—it’s more like a bizarre, vivid hallucination. Leon has had enough. The sheer size of it, the strange environment, and the fact that he’s battling what appears to be a living constellation… he’s definitely in need of a strong drink.
