Kyle Richards Shares Dating Update Amid Mauricio Umansky Separation

In a town full of couples, Kyle Richards isn’t afraid to be single.

It’s been over two years since Kyle Richards separated from her husband, Mauricio Umansky, and she says she hasn’t had much time for dating because of her busy life.

“I pretty much live at work,” she recently told People magazine. “I launched my production company, House of 18, and I’m currently producing four different TV shows. I’m really looking forward to seeing those come to life.”

In addition to her work behind the scenes, Kyle—who shares daughters Farrah Aldjufrie, 37, Alexia Umansky, 29, Sophia Umansky, 26, and Portia Umansky, 18, with Mauricio—has also been busy with acting, recently appearing in The Lincoln Lawyer.

I recently finished another project, so I’m continuing to act and produce alongside my work on The Real Housewives. I’m juggling a lot, but I like staying busy.

However, Kyle, 57, hasn’t been alone since separating from Mauricio, 55. She actually shared details about dating someone new on an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in December.

Okay, so after things ended with Mau, I actually did try dating someone else. Honestly, I was a mess, totally heartbroken and just… really open to anything. I fell so hard for this person, it was crazy. I was just so vulnerable and needed someone, anyone, to help me through it.

Unfortunately, the relationship didn’t last long because Kyle’s partner wasn’t ready to be open about it.

She explained that the constant rumors and chatter were ultimately what caused the relationship to fail. While she felt she could have handled the difficulties, she realized it was too much for the other person.

Jamie Lee Curtis, who was previously linked to singer Morgan Wade, admitted to Erika Jayne that all the questions about her love life eventually bothered her.

She expressed her frustration with constant questions about her relationships. “If I were dating someone who asked to keep it private and requested respect, would I ignore that and share it with others just to satisfy their curiosity?” she asked, emphasizing the importance of respecting boundaries.

Kyle explained that he’s always believed in honesty and prides himself on being truthful. However, he feels confused about what others expect from him, stating he isn’t a liar but doesn’t understand what people want.

News that Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky, stars of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, were separating after 27 years of marriage came as a shock to fans of the show.

Viewers didn’t need to wait for the new season of RHOBH to find out how the couple and their daughters – Farrah, Alexia, Sophia, and Portia – were doing.

The couple addressed rumors of a divorce, stating they are false. They confirmed it’s been a very difficult year for their marriage, but emphasized their continued love and respect for each other, and denied any infidelity or wrongdoing.

Despite appearing on reality TV, the couple requested privacy to work through their problems.

They acknowledged that it’s tempting to guess, but asked people not to make up untrue stories to fuel sensationalism.

Immediately after Kyle and Mauricio announced their separation, people started talking about Kyle’s close relationship with singer Morgan Wade. Fans noticed Wade appearing frequently in Kyle’s Instagram posts ever since they met in April 2022.

Kyle addressed the rumors head-on when asked by photographers about her connection to Morgan.

“We are very good friends,” she told told paparazzi in West Hollywood, Calif.

When directly asked if she was dating the musician, she simply confirmed it wasn’t true.

Kyle also pointed out that she and her close friend Teddi Mellencamp have matching tattoos.

Despite recent speculation about their relationship, Kyle shared photos from a family trip to Aspen, featuring herself, Mauricio, and their four daughters. She quickly responded to one commenter who seemed skeptical.

After a fan praised her as “damage control” Kyle, she jokingly replied, “If you all enjoy analyzing every detail, here’s something to analyze [middle finger emoji].”

Shortly after publicly confirming they were friends, Morgan released the music video for her song “Fall in Love With Me.” The video features Kyle as her romantic partner, and the two actresses share a passionate connection.

In an joint Instagram video, the pair shared the backstory for their sexy collaboration.

Morgan shared that whenever she appears with someone in a music video, people immediately assume they’re romantically involved. She also noted that online, fans are very interested in speculating about a possible relationship between her and her co-stars.

“In response, Kyle joked back, “Excuse me, they want to know why I’m friends with you.”

Morgan explained they wanted to playfully mock their critics, while Kyle added that if people are going to discuss them anyway, they might as well give them interesting material.

The family took a trip to Italy and shared photos from their vacation.

Oh my gosh, you guys, Mauricio just posted the cutest family photo from their summer vacation! It was taken on a boat at night, and he captioned it “Summer Vacay 2023 on point” – seriously, family goals! And then Kyle! She shared this adorable picture with her daughters and wrote “That’s amore” with heart emojis and an Italian flag! I’m obsessed with how sweet they are, it’s just the cutest thing ever!

During a live Q&A on Amazon, Kyle revealed she’d been going through a difficult time recently, even though she appeared to be enjoying a pleasant trip to Italy.

Okay, so someone finally asked about me and Mauricio, and honestly, it was so hard to answer! Kyle said it’s been incredibly tough dealing with everyone watching and judging us, but she definitely let slip that we really, really care about each other. I just know there’s still something there, even if it’s complicated! It was a loaded question, obviously, but she didn’t deny anything! I’m clinging to every little thing she says!

During a recent Amazon Live stream, Kyle addressed rumors about her trip to Paris with Morgan and a friend from childhood, explaining it was simply a fun getaway.

Kyle expressed frustration with the amount of misinformation online, wondering why people feel the need to fabricate stories about the trip.

Kyle shared that they traveled internationally to film content for a documentary Morgan is creating.

She explained that the subjects seemed aware of the camera, but then acted as if it wasn’t there at all, behaving in a way she couldn’t quite describe.

Kyle quickly pointed out that cameras were present, effectively dismissing suggestions that the trip was a romantic one.

“Can you guys get your act together?” she stressed. “But yes, it was a great shoot.” 

Mauricio’s first performance on Dancing With the Stars was cheered on by Kyle, who was in the audience to support both him and his dance partner, Emma Slater, as they performed a lively jive.

Kyle went a step further to show her followers how to vote for Mauricio, sharing instructions on her Instagram Story.

After the DWTS premiere, Mauricio offered a status update on their marriage.

He explained on the September 28th episode of The Agency’s Red Mic podcast that they were privately working through personal challenges. He clarified that they weren’t separated or divorced, but were still committed to their marriage and navigating difficulties together.

The man, 53, said he’s thankful they had almost thirty years of marriage without any major problems.

He reflected on their 26 years together, noting it had largely been a wonderful journey, though the past year presented some challenges. He and his wife, Kyle, feel fortunate to have experienced 26 years without a truly difficult period, understanding that most marriages go through tough times, whether it’s for months, weeks, or even years.

Mauricio then addressed rumors that he and Kyle staged their separation to garner publicity. 

He said he wouldn’t ruin his own life just to get a plant some attention, and that he wasn’t clever enough to come up with such a scheme. He emphasized he’s neither that manipulative nor intelligent.

And get this – Kyle did the tattoo herself! Can you believe it?! There’s a scene where Kyle brings Morgan to a tattoo artist, and Morgan was even joking that they met because Kyle ‘stalked’ her! And, like the public, Kyle’s co-stars had questions about her friendship with the singer.

Dorit Kemsley was shocked and asked her friend, “You got the first letter of my name tattooed on your body? What’s happening, Kyle?”

The conversation between Kyle and Mauricio really caught people’s attention online. They seemed to be playfully addressing rumors about an affair, with Mauricio jokingly telling Kyle he was glad it was her, and Kyle responding with a lighthearted, “For once, it’s me.”

Following reports of a dinner date between Mauricio and actress Leslie Bega in Los Angeles, the real estate agent clarified that they are not romantically involved. It was revealed that the two are actually colleagues.

He told TopMob News there was absolutely no truth to the story. He described it as completely unfounded and said there was nothing to discuss.

I’m absolutely devastated! Just when I thought Mauricio and his wife were the perfect couple – he even dedicated his Dancing With The Stars dance to her, calling her his everything – now there are pictures of him holding hands with his dance partner, Emma! Everyone’s saying they’re having a romance, and honestly, it’s breaking my heart. I just can’t believe it!

Kyle said she was surprised and upset by the photos shown on Watch What Happens Live. She told Andy Cohen that seeing them was “very hard” and “hurt her feelings.”

She wouldn’t say for sure if the two are becoming a couple, but she did offer her thoughts on what they’d be like together.

She wasn’t sure if anything had actually occurred, but she acknowledged something was definitely going on. Despite loving him and remaining on good terms, she admitted that she was really hurt by it.

So much so, that she admitted she deleted a recent Instagram post in support of their run on DWTS.

However, she added, “I also voted for them.”

Honestly, it was heartbreaking to watch. Everything with their split felt like it was building up, but it really exploded at BravoCon 2023. Seeing Kyle so upset and openly talking about the end of their marriage… it was a really tough moment, and it felt like things officially reached a breaking point then.

She explained that many assume she should simply overcome her challenges and make everything better. While that’s exactly what she wishes she could do, she admitted things haven’t turned out as she’d hoped or imagined.

Despite everything, Kyle emphasized their deep love and strong family bond, stating that they will always be family.

I’ve been following Kyle’s situation closely, and she recently shared whether she’ll be getting her soon-to-be-ex-husband anything for the holidays – both Christmas and Hanukkah. It’s interesting to hear how she’s handling things, even with their separation.

I’m really hoping to get a gift for him if we end up celebrating Christmas together! Kyle shared with TopMob News on December 7th that he’s just trying to decide what to get him – it’s always tough finding the perfect present, you know?

Kyle shared that they celebrated by enjoying winter activities like skiing and relaxing at home. They spent time playing games, watching movies, and cozying up by the fire – their favorite way to spend the season.

Kyle and Mauricio’s marriage cracks were clearer than ever during RHOBH‘s Feb. 14 episode.

During therapy, Kyle shared, with tears in his eyes, that they’ve been struggling to communicate effectively. He explained that he often feels unheard and won’t stay in an unhappy relationship. He added that he won’t tolerate treatment he wouldn’t want his daughters to accept, either.

During the reunion for season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle explained why she kissed Morgan in the music video for her 2023 song, “Fall in Love With Me.”

She explained on the March 13th show that she agreed to something because, frankly, she thought the other person was attractive. She jokingly admitted, “What can I say?”

As for whether or not she sees a romantic future with the singer?

Honestly, she just said she doesn’t know! It’s like, she’s growing and changing right before our eyes, and it’s so exciting! She admitted she’s in a total transformation, and she has no idea what’s next. It’s a little scary, but mostly…it’s amazing to witness. I can’t wait to see who she becomes!

Mauricio insisted in March that, despite being single, he was not yet ready to mingle.

Lately, I’ve been prioritizing some much-needed ‘me time,’ and honestly, it’s been amazing. I’m really getting to know myself again and rediscovering what I enjoy. It’s a process I’m embracing, and I’m not feeling any pressure to jump into anything new right now. I’m truly enjoying the journey and all the self-discovery it brings – no rush at all!

He added, “I’m just taking it a day at a time.”

In the second season of the Netflix show Buying Beverly Hills, Mauricio spoke about the rumors that Kyle Richards and Morgan Wade were dating.

You know, as someone who looks at relationships all the time, I’ve learned it’s perfectly healthy to be comfortable with ambiguity. I recently spoke with the founder of The Agency, and they shared something I really resonated with: they’re totally fine with not needing to define things right away, and just letting a connection unfold naturally. It’s a refreshing perspective – not everything needs a label to be good!

He added that the two are clearly connected in some way. They spend a lot of time together, but what their relationship is exactly, he couldn’t say.

Kyle has removed her husband’s last name from her Instagram username, but her profile still identifies her as a wife.

Kyle and Mauricio’s breakup up got even more real when he moved out of their L.A. home in May 2024.

It felt strange, but I expected it to,” said the Halloween Ends actress on the May 14th episode of the Bitch Bible podcast. “I knew that day would be very real and emotional. As a mom of four with a full house, life is already pretty hectic.”
