Resident Evil – Code: Veronica Remake is Directed by RE2/RE4 Remakes Duo, No Content Cut – Rumor

Rumors suggest Capcom will announce a remake of Resident Evil – Code: Veronica this year, potentially releasing it in the first half of 2027. According to reliable leaker Dusk Golem, this remake won’t cut any content, which should please fans who were concerned about that happening in previous remakes.

However, there are a few details to keep in mind. From what I understand, Resident Evil Code Veronica hasn’t had anything removed; it’s mostly been expanded with some significant changes. It seems this Remake alters more things than previous versions, but all the enemies, locations, and key events are still present – and often expanded upon.

This update also affects Chris Redfield. As you might remember, he showed up unexpectedly in the first game. Because this is the first time we’re seeing a younger version of him created with the RE Engine, we’ve given him a larger role. However, he won’t be a central figure in the remake’s final moments.

Chris will face his own final boss battle against Wesker much earlier in the game than in the original, and will be seriously injured as a result. This will lead to Claire taking over for the remainder of the story, including the final confrontation with Alexia. This change gives Alexia a bigger role and positions her more clearly as the main character, which aligns with previous reports.

Fans worried about a remake of Code: Veronica can likely relax. The directors of the successful Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes, Kazunori Kadoi and Yasuhiro Anpo, are said to be leading the project.

We expect the story expansion for Resident Evil Requiem to be released soon, possibly even before the end of this year. The new content will likely center around Leon S. Kennedy, and Ada Wong might also be involved.
