If there’s one person in Emmerdale village that you don’t mess with, it’s Kim Tate (Claire King)!
The popular soap opera character has had to explain why she’s leaving her Home Farm estate to Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) after she passes away. Although her fortune will mostly be shared by her grandchildren, including Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), Joe was upset to discover he wouldn’t be inheriting the farm itself.
After a frightening health scare, Kim recently updated her will and decided to include Lydia and her husband, Sam, in a significant way. She wanted to leave them a substantial inheritance that would dramatically improve their lives, despite past conflicts with the Dingle family.
Joe didn’t find out until Graham Foster, upset about Kim, searched her office and discovered the official document.
Graham was upset about spending the night with Kim, especially because it meant he hadn’t had a chance to reconnect with Rhona Goskirk. He was also disappointed to find out Kim wasn’t interested in a real relationship, only a casual encounter.

Kim has figured out that Graham and Joe are teaming up to convince her to reconsider Lydia’s inheritance. In response, she’s deliberately stirring up trouble by bringing someone new into the family’s already complex situation.
While chatting at The Woolpack pub, Ross Barton reminded a woman that he used to be in charge of operations at Home Farm and would be happy to manage things again. Once they agreed to a deal, Ross went to Home Farm and shared his career news.

The rest of the family wasn’t thrilled with his return. Dawn Fletcher told him to leave, and Graham and Joe questioned whether Kim would really hire him again. Only Gabby Thomas seemed happy to see him, offering to make him a drink and telling him to get comfortable.
Graham understood exactly what Kim was trying to do. Later that night, when they were alone together, they had a very serious conversation.

Kim realized Graham was right – the people who wanted to harm her were likely those she knew. Because of this, she felt she needed to protect herself. When Graham dismissed the idea that Ross could help her, Kim reacted with a surprisingly cold reply.
Let me tell you something: you don’t want to cross Ross, or me. Seriously. I’m not someone you want to make angry – trust me, you wouldn’t like the consequences. I’m capable of a lot when I’m pushed, and it’s not pretty.
Will Graham heed Kim’s warning?
