The episode resolved several key mysteries and hinted at what’s to come for the survivors, both during their time in the wilderness and in the present day.
Now that we know season 4 will be the end of the show, fans are eagerly waiting to see how the story will conclude. Production is scheduled to start in 2026, with the final season expected to premiere towards the end of that year.
As a huge Yellowjackets fan, I’ve been digging into everything we know about season 4! I’ve put together a rundown of who we might see again, what crazy things could happen next, and when we can actually expect it to hit our screens. It’s all a bit speculative, but it’s fun to piece together!
Yellowjackets season 4 release date speculation: When could it be on?
Showtime announced in October 2025 that the fourth season of Yellowjackets will be the last, and filming is expected to begin in 2026.
New episodes are expected to begin airing towards the end of 2026, likely in late fall or early winter. This timing is consistent with past seasons, which have usually been released about a year and a half apart.
Although the specific date isn’t confirmed yet, fans can expect the next season to begin airing in late 2026.
Is there a trailer for Yellowjackets season 4?

What could happen in Yellowjackets season 4?
The season 3 finale showed Natalie connecting with people, suggesting the girls might finally be rescued after a long wait.
Despite what fans might hope, Bart Nickerson, one of the show’s creators, has stated that the rescue won’t happen in the first episode of season 4. This implies the characters will continue to struggle in the wilderness for a while before finally returning home.
According to showrunner Ashley Lyle, the final season will focus on the girls’ struggles to return to everyday life after everything they’ve been through. It will examine how their experiences have changed them and how they cope with trauma and guilt as they try to rebuild their lives.
Season 4 will connect the show’s two different storylines, and we can anticipate a deeper look at how the events have affected each character emotionally. It will also reveal answers to some of the biggest mysteries surrounding the group’s hidden past.

I’ve been following Helen Daly’s work for a while now. She’s currently the Deputy Digital Editor at TopMob, basically heading up all their new digital stuff and commercial projects. Before that, she was a Deputy TV Editor at a pretty big national publication, so she really knows her stuff. She’s got a solid academic background too – a BA in English Literature and an MA in Media & Journalism from Newcastle University. It all adds up to someone who really understands storytelling and how media works.
