Those pesky age rating organisations are at it again, inadvertently leaking unannounced games.
A new version of Sonic Frontiers has been rated by the Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee, as spotted by Gematsu.
It’s called Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition, and unfortunately that’s all we know right now.
Seeing the game listed on this official ratings website, which catalogs all games released or coming to the country, strongly suggests it’s real and will be released.
SEGA is likely to announce a remastered version of the game soon, possibly as part of the celebration for Sonic the Hedgehog’s 35th anniversary.
What would a Definitive Edition of Sonic Frontiers even look like? Usually, these editions combine the original game with its downloadable content, but all the DLC for Frontiers has been released for free.
It’s just a guess, but the game might get some minor changes to how it plays. The ‘Sonic X Shadow Generations’ version of Shadow’s gameplay builds on the style of ‘Frontiers,’ and the developers could decide to update the original game to match those enhancements.
There might also be improvements to how the game looks and runs. Many players have noted that objects in Frontiers sometimes appear suddenly as you move, and this could be fixed.
Whatever the case may be, the game’s appearance on a ratings site means an announcement is inbound.
The Xbox Partner Preview event is happening tomorrow, March 26th, 2026. SEGA will be there showcasing Stranger Than Heaven, and many are wondering if they’ll also use the event to announce a Definitive Edition of Sonic Frontiers.
We’ll know soon! Would you like to see a Definitive Edition of Sonic Frontiers? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
