The UK version of Saturday Night Live finally premiered last weekend, and most viewers seemed to enjoy it!
I remember when this show first came out, a lot of people were skeptical – even before it premiered! Some were convinced it would flop, and others just weren’t impressed with the trailers. It’s amazing how popular it became, especially considering all the doubt beforehand. It’s quickly become a favorite of mine, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it!
The British version of the comedy show had 226,000 live viewers. This number doesn’t include people who watched online or later on demand. A preview clip for Jamie Dornan’s upcoming episode has created a lot of buzz for the second part of the series.
Many young adults in the UK are expressing a desire for more sketch comedy, likely influenced by the popularity of the children’s show Horrible Histories, which holds a special place for a lot of people.

TopMob recently asked me what I thought of Saturday Night Live UK, and honestly, it’s great seeing two Taskmaster alums, Ania Magliano and Emma Sidi, killing it on the show. They’re both hilarious, and it’s clear their Taskmaster experience is serving them well. I was really impressed!
Speaking at the Royal Television Society Awards, he admitted he wasn’t sure what viewers are looking for. He suggested that the public often doesn’t know what it wants until it actually sees something and then immediately recognizes its appeal.
He added that there was a lot of doubt about whether SNL UK would succeed, but that those concerns quickly disappeared once the show began. He thought it was fantastic!

Horne said he’s eager to watch the next installments of the show, and he’s particularly interested in how the actors interact with each other.
He told TopMob that the group is incredibly talented, even though people might see them as newcomers. They actually have a lot of experience performing at Edinburgh, having done the festival for years. He’s really looking forward to seeing their initial ideas on Monday and the final show on Saturday.
Horne expressed how proud he is of Magliano and Sidi, saying he’s really happy for their success. He described them as talented, good people, and also very funny, adding that they are friends of his.
