The Super Mario Bros. Movie was a massive hit in 2023, earning over $1.3 billion worldwide. It was the second-highest-grossing film of the year, only surpassed by the incredibly popular Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie and directed by Greta Gerwig.

I was so thrilled when this movie came out and absolutely smashed box office records – it became the highest-grossing video game movie ever! And honestly, Jack Black deserved all the praise he got, including that Kids’ Choice Award for his hilarious villain. It was amazing to see the movie get nominated for so many other awards too – it really proved how much people loved it.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie, based on the popular Nintendo games and following the adventures of plumbers Mario and Luigi as they try to rescue Princess Peach from the villainous Bowser, was a huge success. So, it makes perfect sense that a second movie is coming.

How to watch The Super Mario Galaxy Movie – is it streaming?

Currently, The Super Mario Bros. Movie isn’t available to stream. For now, the only way to watch it is in theaters, starting Wednesday, April 1st.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie plot – What is it about?

I just saw the new movie, and it’s amazing how much it draws from Super Mario Galaxy – you really feel that sense of adventure in space! The film introduces Princess Rosalina, played by Brie Larson, and her backstory is beautifully woven in. She’s this incredible guardian of the cosmos who lives in this stunning place called the Comet Observatory, and it’s a key part of the whole story.

During their adventure, Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad will team up with Yoshi (voiced by Donald Glover) and confront the familiar threat of Bowser. This time, however, Bowser isn’t fighting alone; his son, Bowser Jr. (played by Benny Safdie), will also be working against them.

The new Super Mario Galaxy Movie promises to deliver the same fun and excitement as the first film, making it a great choice for families and video game lovers.
