Get ready to don your armor! In the debut trailer for the brand-new animated Iron Man series titled “Marvel’s Iron Man and His Incredible Companions“, our armored buddies – Tony Stark/Iron Man (Mason Blomberg), Riri Williams/Ironheart (Kapri Ladd), and Amadeus Cho/Iron Hulk (Aidyn Ahn) – are a group of youngsters embarking on thrilling escapades reminiscent of “Spidey and His Fantastic Friends“. The preschool version of Iron Man from Disney Jr. also introduces John Stamos, who previously voiced the armored hero in “Spidey“, as Howard Stark, the iron lad’s father.
The short clip unveils our advanced protagonists, accompanied by their armored canine companion, soaring through the show, hinting at collaborations involving Vision, the winged Captain America played by Sam Wilson, and Black Panther. Additionally, Disney Branded Television disclosed the arrival of new cast members – Tony Hale from “Toy Story 4” as the villainous Ultron, Vanessa Bayer from “Saturday Night Live” as Swarm, and Talon Warburton from “Megamind Rules!” portraying the Absorbing Man.
In this production, ESPN sportscaster Jessica Mendoza voices the amiable proprietor Dottie Doubleday from Dottie Doubleday’s Batting Cages; Jackée Harry, known for her role in Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, portrays Riri’s spirited grandmother Granny Williams, who owns a mobile pie truck; Stephen Tobolowsky, familiar face from The Loud House, plays Spencer Q. Sweets, the owner of the most popular candy store in town; Lauren Tom, voice actress from Teen Titans Go!, assumes the role of Helen Cho, mother to Amadeus; and Gary Anthony Williams from Invincible, along with Mo Collins from Parks and Recreation, bring Nuts and Bolts to life, two of Ultron’s side-splitting henchbots.
This series, titled “Marvel’s Iron Man and His Remarkable Companions,” chronicles the escapades (and mishaps) of three extraordinary friends – the brilliant inventor Tony Stark, prodigious Riri Williams, and Amadeus Cho – who team up to tackle a variety of issues, from minor inconveniences to city-threatening catastrophes. They strive to safeguard their metropolis in the process. To aid them in their heroic endeavors, each member of the Iron Alliance dons an Iron Suit equipped with flight capabilities and superhuman strength.
As a movie enthusiast penning down my thoughts, let me share that this captivating series hails from the creative minds at Disney Branded Television. The executive producers are none other than Sean Coyle, famously known for “Puppy Dog Pals,” and Harrison Wilcox, who has made his mark with “Spidey and His Amazing Friends.” This collaborative effort between Disney Jr. and Marvel Studios, in partnership with Atomic Cartoons, is a spectacle to behold.
The catchy theme song for Iron Man’s “Totally Awesome” persona is an absolute delight. The tune has been brilliantly crafted and powerfully performed by none other than Mark Hoppus, a Grammy nominee and founding member of the iconic band blink-182. His musical genius truly adds to the overall appeal of this series.
Starting Monday, August 11, catch the debut of “Iron Man and His Marvelous Companions” on Disney Jr. (8:30 a.m. Eastern/Pacific Time), followed by its appearance on Disney Channel later that day. The initial set of 10 episodes will be accessible on Disney+ in the U.S. and certain international regions, as well as on Disney Jr. On Demand, starting Tuesday, August 12.
