The first trailer for the new animated Stranger Things spin-off reveals the monsters the characters will face.
As a fan of Stranger Things, I was excited to hear about Tales From ’85, and now we finally have details. This new story, announced last April, takes place during the winter of 1985 – fittingly – and fills in the gap between seasons two and three of the show. It’s a nice way to expand the universe and see what the characters were up to in those quieter moments.
The story continues with Eleven, Max, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Will as they encounter frightening new creatures and work to solve a strange, supernatural mystery that’s plaguing their town.
It’s winter 1985, and the town is covered in snow. Things are finally returning to normal for Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max after the terrifying events they faced. They’re enjoying everyday life – playing Dungeons & Dragons, having snowball fights, and just relaxing.
Something frightening has stirred beneath the ice, and its origins are unknown. Is it connected to the Upside Down, the secrets of Hawkins Lab, or something completely different? Now, our heroes must quickly uncover the truth and protect Hawkins in this brand new Stranger Things adventure.

The show’s new trailer has just given fans their first glimpse of the creatures featured in the series.
In addition to the Demogorgons and Demodogs viewers already know, the new season features a creepy, plant-like monster reminiscent of Audrey II from ‘Little Shop of Horrors.’ There’s also a Demogorgon-like creature with a pumpkin head, possibly hinting at a Halloween theme.
Although the identities of the new monsters haven’t been officially revealed, Eric Robles, the show’s creator and executive producer, has given us a hint of what to expect.

He explained that the science from Hawkins Lab is somehow connected to the strange material from the Upside Down. This connection is causing a ripple effect, linking the creatures appearing in our world to whatever is happening in the alternate dimension.
When you remove the big villain and world-ending stakes, Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 feels more like the early seasons of the show – a comfortable, spooky story focused on the town and its people.
The new series, Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, April 23rd. It consists of ten half-hour episodes.
