Will there be a season 2 of Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen? Showrunner weighs in

**Warning: Spoilers ahead for Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen.**

Everyone is wondering if Netflix will renew its new horror series, ‘Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen,’ for a second season. The show taps into common fears about finding the right person and the dangers of making the wrong commitment.

The Duffer Brothers, known for Stranger Things, created this new series. It follows Rachel, played by Camila Morrone, who becomes increasingly uneasy as her wedding day with Nicky (Adam DiMarco) draws near.

We learn why she’s so stressed out around the middle of the season—in a scene with a surprising celebrity guest!—and things come to a head in a really intense and violent final episode. The big question is: what happens to her now?

TopMob spoke to showrunner Haley Z Boston to find out.

Will there be a Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen season 2?

Despite not being renewed for another season yet, the showrunner of “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen,” Haley Z Boston, hasn’t completely given up hope for a second season.

I was so fascinated to hear her say, in a recent interview with TopMob, that she always envisioned this as a single, complete season. And she truly believes it plays out perfectly as a cohesive whole – it just works that way, in her view.

I feel like the story is fully realized. While it could potentially continue as an anthology series if I had the opportunity, it’s a very personal project, and feels complete as it is.

It might seem strange considering the story, but exploring my own deepest fears is what really drives me as a director. I think I need to identify a new, big fear to inspire my next project!

Who could star in a Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen season 2?

If the show does return, it sounds like it would be an entirely different cast.

Although the show left things open-ended, Camila Morrone’s character, Rachel Harkin, might return. However, according to the show’s creator, her story could also be finished.
