As an analyst, I’ve been privy to some exciting news regarding the forthcoming Minecraft update, slated as the third of 2025. This significant upgrade unveiled a new mob, fresh tools and armor, and a host of enticing gameplay enhancements. Currently, Mojang Studios is delving deeper into the development process, meticulously testing additional features for this eagerly anticipated update.
The brand-new Minecraft Preview is currently being distributed to testers, fueling my anticipation for the as-of-yet unidentified Minecraft Game Drop. This beta version incorporates a fresh decorative block with an impressive feature, and elevates Copper Golems to even greater uniqueness.
For Minecraft: Java Edition enthusiasts, it’s going to take a bit more time until the corresponding snapshot arrives. However, during this waiting period, you can acquire all the necessary information about these new features.
New shelves and functional loadouts
In this sneak peek, the most notable inclusion is undoubtedly the versatile shelf, meticulously carved from various types of wood. This decorative piece can be effortlessly attached to any wall, and each individual block can accommodate and showcase up to three items or stacks on it.
Engaging with any of these objects will exchange it with what you’re currently holding (unless you’re not holding anything, in which case it will be removed). The shelves take on added intrigue since they are compatible with redstone.
Power a set of shelves, and moving items onto them swaps the last three items in your inventory. Connect up to three shelves, allowing you to swiftly change your entire inventory with the items you’ve placed on the shelves.
Mojang has introduced the ability to change loadouts in Minecraft, allowing you to quickly switch between different hotbars depending on what you’re doing, such as farming, exploring, mining, or fighting. While there isn’t an immediate method for switching your armor or offhand items (not at this point), this is still a significant upgrade.
This addition to the shelf offers numerous decorative options and useful elements for gaming, which I believe will bring immense joy to many gamers.
A new mechanic for our copper golem friends

In this beta’s latest addition, whether you find it impressive or unsettling is subjective. To reiterate, the main highlight of this Game Drop is Copper Golems, which function as your helpful assistants, capable of organizing items within chests autonomously.
As a researcher studying Copper Golems, it’s evident that they are crafted from copper, leading to their natural oxidization and color change over time. Much like with other copper structures, you can apply wax to preserve the current hue of these golems. Interestingly, no degree of oxidation has previously affected the functioning of Copper Golems. However, recent discoveries suggest that this might be changing…
As a tech enthusiast, I’d share that letting a Copper Golem fully oxidize transforms it into a unique, static sculpture for your home. You can alter its pose by engaging with the statue itself, and
If you’re worried about the health of your copper-based companions, there’s a method to revive them. Similar to other copper items, oxidation can be reduced using an axe (and protected with wax), and striking a fully cleaned Copper Golem statue with an axe will rejuvenate it. Huzzah!
I’m unsure if I’d prefer to put my Copper Golems into an endless sleep, but it definitely adds to their distinct charm. What are your thoughts on the upcoming Minecraft update with these additional features?
