There was more bad blood than met the eye.
Okay, so it looks like Survivor 50’s Charlie Davis might have misread the room a bit. He thought Rizo Velovic, who came back for another season so quickly after being on Survivor 49, was flying solo out there in Fiji. But it seems Rizo actually had some connections and alliances forming – Charlie’s assumption that he was totally on his own wasn’t quite right. It’s a good reminder that in this game, things are rarely as they appear!
The contestant, who claims to be a Taylor Swift fan, hinted that Sophi Balerdi, a fellow competitor, might have introduced him to Dee Valladares, a previous winner, before the show started filming.
Charlie told Page Six that he heard Dee had a FaceTime call with Rizo before the season started. He believes they connected through a mutual friend, Soph, as both of them are living in Miami.
The 28-year-old contestant claimed that Rizo’s conversations before the game likely influenced how alliances formed within their tribe.
You know, if I were in Dee’s shoes, I’d totally play up that connection with Rizo. It’s a unique situation – I’d have built a rapport before things got serious, something no one else could claim. It’s all about having that inside track and knowing someone before they’re ‘on everyone’s radar,’ so to speak. It gives you a real advantage!
Charlie was determined to target Rizo after finding out Rizo hadn’t voted for Sophi in the previous season. However, in a surprising turn of events on the March 25th episode, Dee and Rizo, along with fellow players Cirie Fields and Kamilla Karthigesu, unexpectedly voted Charlie out of the game.
Despite their disagreements, Charlie said he doesn’t actually have any hard feelings towards Rizo.

People have assumed I really disliked Zach Rizo, but that’s not true,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “We definitely had some disagreements while filming, but even on the show, we also had some fun and connected well. It wasn’t a personal hatred.”
Charlie concluded, “So no, I don’t have hatred towards Rizo. But it was definitely funny watching.”
TopMob News has reached out to reps for Rizo and Dee for comment and hasn’t heard back.
